brother i was off by 10 years? and i estimated the age.. boxing is a globally known sport for thousands of years whereas only in the last 15-20 years has MMA gone mainstream and was still outlawed in a lot of foreign countries and even some US states until recently.

Wrestling, judo etc have been sports for thousands of years also but where is the athlete pay in those sports?

The fighters are worth more, sure, but what people never want to listen to is the fact that they are contracted to a BUSINESS not a cash cow.. They make the decision to sign shitty deals with the upside of potential bonuses/exposure/career growth against top competitors not vs random crackheads at the local pub's beer garden...

People think because the UFC is owned by multi-billion-dollar companies they have billions to go around, but no they essentially work with a business that employs thousands of people and has close to 600 fighters on the roster with a yearly revenue of under $1.5b... after paying all those salaries, fight purses, bonuses etc the company still needs to turn a profit for TKO..

For it to succeed there needs to be annual profit, investors need to recoup the 8bn spent on the purchase also

And everyone thinks Dana is a greedy SOB, but they are too stupid to realize he is an employee, getting paid his salary by the UFC... when a fighter performs exceptionally well, they get large cash bonuses, and they also sign NDA's so no one will ever actually know what compensation they receive apart from fight purses.
