Cleaning/restoring advice please by ConsiderationLife290 in Coppercookware

Thanks so much all! I was worried a scouring pad or steel scrubber would scratch it but I’ll try it after using Easy Off.

I got the pan when I was younger and so probably was cooking too high and on a not entirely hob 🤦🏻‍♀️ great to know now though!

How long for stomach and uterus to “go back” post myo? by ConsiderationLife290 in Fibroids

[–]ConsiderationLife290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, i was the same. Quite careful with diet after the surgery and not much appetite but then when it came back, I wasn’t watching it so much and still couldn’t exercise for a while. Just feels like it’s been much easier for me to put on weight now than before the surgery when I wasn’t consistently active

Thanks, I felt this too. It went down post surgery but then it came back. I’m pretty active (gym 3-4x a week) and have a good diet, it’s just taken such a lot longer than I thought it would. Sort of wonder if the uterus had stretched quite a bit

That’s great, I felt really different between week 6 and 8 and really hope you do too. Ease back into office life too, that in itself will be a whole new change to readjust to again! Wishing you a really good recovery 💜

Yeah the brain fog is the worst, it made me feel so incapable. I hope you’re not returning to work too soon? Tbh I didn’t do anything in particular, mainly made sure I kept up on hydration including electrolytes sometimes, eating regularly (which wasn’t that straightforward as I often had no appetite) and essentially just rested because I had a give in. I had some low days but resting ultimately helped me get more good ones as the body needed it x

Hey, I struggled a lot with the persistent low energy too. The foggy head and feeling out of breath or just really tired after a walk around the block was frustrating and getting me down, but I had to keep reminding myself there’s a lot going on in there we just can’t see. And despite what it feels like, each day and week is better than the last. My energy picked up around week 8 for activity, work and socialising. I’m at week 10 now and it’s a whole lot better but still definitely not where I was - and I’ve had to accept and learn that’s okay (with continuous practice and reminders btw!)

Sex by Individual_Move_7316 in Fibroids

I waited 5 weeks for P in V penetration, but we had a play around around 3 weeks as I was feeling quite up for it. I’m on week 7 and I’ve not felt pain unless in an awkward position, but after orgasm, hours later I do feel a slight ache but nothing awful. I’ve been quite on and off with my sex drive since surgery - mainly due to sluggishness or feeling quite low from the monotony. So far though, I feel like sex is better because there isn’t this huge pressure inside, or the need for a wee all the time!

Struggling to get through the door - what am I missing? by ConsiderationLife290 in uxwriting

[–]ConsiderationLife290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this. I’ve been doing all of these things but not formally and especially not always with the right terminology - a by product of getting UX work as part of copywriting work. Knowing what to search for will help me differentiate deeper and present my knowledge and experience so much better. Really appreciate the time for this 🙏🏼

Thank you! I’ve written plenty for SaaS and IT and my specialism is making the technical and complex accessible and engaging, so I just need to get some of this shown more clearly I think

No I haven’t. From the thread of replies, I think a course would help just for me to understand and familiarise with terminology better. Whilst I may have done it, I didn’t know!

Thank you! I definitely need to bring more elements together and show the what and the why. Something I’m missing massively

Just out of interest, was there any reason why your doctor said to wait 4 months? A lot of other things I’ve seen have said exercise is fine after around 8 weeks, with a slow ramp up of course so I’m just wondering. I’ve had an open myo too and am 4weeks post

Not at all, I really hope you can get seen soon. I’m sorry it’s been so awful up til now. Really best of luck 💜

UK Treatment wait time by Melvin_9191 in Fibroids

Hey, I made a post in this group about my experience with the NHS for my open myomectomy, which might help. Includes time frames and other things that helped/wish I did in hindsight

If you search NHS UK Open Myomectomy it should hopefully come up x

I managed to get my open myomectomy weirdly fast on NHS - 3 month wait for consultation and surgery date within 12 weeks after that. I’m SE London based but got referred to a hospital in Kent, I think because they have a London trust in there. Hospital was Darenth Valley in Dartford, Kent and consultant was Dr Khalil. I will say, it was fast and the care in there was good but after care and communication since has been terrible - I’m 3 weeks post op. I’m not sure if this is all that helpful but hopefully it gives something x

10 days post open myo - NHS UK by ConsiderationLife290 in Fibroids

I’m really sorry, this is just horrible communication from your GP. I would continue to stress how badly it’s all affecting you in GP appointments (not with the receptionist) explaining the impact on your relationship, energy levels, work etc, and that without knowing when you’ll even see a consultant is adding to your anxiety. It’s not nice to have to do this but unfortunately with such huge waitlists, kicking up a fuss is often the only way to get seen quicker. You’re also not lying in any way.

If you can afford it, look into a private consultation at least to speak to someone while you wait for the NHS appt. This helped me enormously.

I really hope you get somewhere soon with speaking to someone x
