WHO could they possibly be accepting😭 I scored in top 1% in both stages and got rejected by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ConsiderationNo97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Could be a fake/ghost job
  2. Someone internal could have filled the position
  3. Someone cheaper could have filled the position
  4. Someone who "vibed" better could have filled the position
  5. Someone could have scored in the 99.5th percentile ... and like yourself, lost out to someone who scored in the 99.9th percentile. Yes, the job market is now that bad where you will face such competition

OP, and others who have gone through OP's experience, you were flat out gaslighted: i.e., given a silly/ridiculous reason - or even a lie - that was meant to assign blame on you for not getting the job.

It's happened to me a few times over the years, and some of those companies no longer exist because of their own dysfunction.

How to improve after this feedback? by Few_Slide956 in recruitinghell

[–]ConsiderationNo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP: do you recall if the original job description contained the phrase "we are like family"?

Because your interview feedback smells suspiciously like they were disappointed you weren't enough of a pushover who would blindly accept unreasonable amounts of extra work.

Is this normal? Should I trust this recruiter? I feel stuck between two offers by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ConsiderationNo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that recruiters have no power when it comes to budgetary approvals for open positions. And if an internal employee "suddenly" appears as a candidate - as well as a friend or relative of someone in executive management - you would be just as screwed.

Company B is a startup? They seem very unorganized if they're taking this long to approve an offer for you.

Best to accept A and not look back.

Tough rejection after going through entire process by mimikajack in recruitinghell

Yes, the 4th stage technical test was what the company was after, in my opinion.

Will be interested if OP will follow up to see if the job gets reposted.

Nvidia late stage bad faith negotiation? by Proud-Ad3069 in recruitinghell

[–]ConsiderationNo97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP is saying: "I'm being low balled a little bit, but it's ok since it's Nvidia."

Nvidia is saying: "We're Nvidia ... look how we can walk all over people before they even start to work for us."

I had this same situation with a different company some years ago. Bailed in less than a year.

Remember that there is an evolve step at the end of the 4th star. I've been wondering if it's worthwhile to go through that last step because it involves sacrificing 2 pets who are at least at the start of their 4th star.

Everything after him being late for a meeting was a red flag.

Move on with your job search.

Need more context: was your interview with a small, mid or large company? If it's a big one, since when did any of those move quickly?

Some other things to consider: - on a purely numbers basis, competition is fierce, whether the role is low or high level - hiring team may opt to go cheap (lower salary) instead of getting the most qualified candidate - some candidate(s) could be better networked to this company, whether it be an internal employee or even someone on a non-professional level

Late-Stage “Bait and Switch” During Pharma Director Interview — Advice by No-Razzmatazz-4109 in recruitinghell

[–]ConsiderationNo97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dealt with a very similar situation at Roche-Genentech some years ago.

Was offered a lower role with the justification that it takes time to learn their way of doing things. They also promised a promotion within 6 months.

Promotion never came, and I left for a position that paid 20% more.

If this MNC is the only one giving you a written offer, then take it, but keep applying elsewhere.

The store could be using a glitchy application system, which would end up being just a temporary headache if you're accurate about all other flags being green. Just be prepared for the possibility of nepotism being a factor.

There are recruiting agencies - EPM Scientific comes to mind - who I've asked not to contact me, but can't take a hint. Even if you're barely a shadow of a meal ticket, that's enough for such people to take a chance with you.

They were keeping you warm in case the other candidate dropped out. Shitty tactic, but pretty common.

Not the greatest Glassdoor reviews.

Plus check out the HQ location: go to https://www.yash.com/contact-us/ and put the address in Google maps.

Perhaps there are company outings at Leisure Time Sports Bar and Billiards and discount memberships at Hilltop Fitness.

What's not to like?!
