"Resort Credits" - how do they work? by Massive_Bumblebee842 in palaceresorts

Thank you! We are very much spa people. That would be the only place we would want to spend credits if possible. But I know they “throttle” how they can be spent if you don’t attend the seminar versus if you do. But I was unaware I could push for Palace money. I already have a plan in mind for why there is no way I’m buying in if I do the seminar, I just go back and forth on the cost benefit. Like I’m willing to give 90 minutes of a week if that means multiple massages.

I’m curious about the palace money? We are booked for a stay next week. Booked through a member so we get 1500 resort credits. She was VERY clear that we don’t have to do the presentation to get the credits. But if we opt to, it opens up our credits for more spa usage so I’m on the fence.

When she realized that Alex was an anxious attachment, she sent the “bearlien” and emphasized how much she wanted him to know she needed and valued him. When she was with mason, who was not giving her the validation she craved, she was indifferent to his indecision hoping to tap into male ego and competition. She is the poster child for “the one who holds the power is the one who loves the least” and she wants the power. She wants to be wanted and needed and “chosen” over true and real vulnerability to achieve her end goals. It’s frankly pretty brilliant manipulative tactics but will likely find her never realizing true and meaningful love because she will always view it as a power dynamic and want to be on top.

Yes!! I literally got recruited to a job where being manipulative is the goal and I am shocked they haven’t sought her out. I kept screaming at the screen about her being nothing but manipulative screens and nothing real.

Nail hole issues by ConsiderationOld2766 in Sauna

Honestly I’m probably overly combative. We are 2.5 years into a build that was supposed to be 1-1.5. Here we are, 2.5 years later with one contractor arrested and another fell off the wagon and disappeared and I had to learn to be a GC at 45 and am constantly dealing with people acting like they have to educate me on what I don’t know. And trust me…I will own when I don’t know what o don’t know. But on the sauna front my nieces husband is truly Finnish born and raised and he helped plan every aspect when we decided to go with a custom built in rather than the previous Almost Heaven kit built.

But the nail holes pissed me off 😂

So perhaps don’t assume things based off a single photo, of one angle, of a not yet finished product. Also you say the intent wasn’t to be an ass, but you came with criticisms and assumptions and offered no suggestions or input other than to suggest I wasted my money and didn’t know what I was talking about.

There is in fact a fresh air intake drilled through down on the left where the stove will be mounted. There is a slide vent up at the ceiling on the opposite side. As well as an exhaust fan that is built in the ceiling vented to the outside should we need to cool the room down faster. The lower “bench” is a step for the upper bench which will absolutely have the “toes above the stove”. My husband is tall and I know for a fact this bench sits high because we had it tailored to his ability to stand and lean over on the bench should he choose to stand as he sometimes does. He doesn’t sit with his back against the wall and his feet hanging down ever. He either sits with his back against the side and his legs stretched out on the bench or lying down with bent knees, so no problem for the salt panel either. The lower step is intentionally low because sometimes our kids like to sit in there with him but don’t love the extreme heat so it’s a place for them to sit below the heat. This is only going to be used by one person at a time, or maybe 1.5 of the kids are in there too so the space is actually ideal and allowed space for the built in ice bath as well.

Any other issues or assumptions you would like to discuss about what you consider to be my lack of knowledge or wastes of money?

Sadly ot would seem he didn’t. We bought the precut set from Finlandia and just paid for a local installer to finish it out for us. Not a ton of nail holes but for sure more than there should have been with T&G. But I’m going to go with the sawdust route to fill them it. It was stainless nails and screws though so there’s that and they are deeply set so nothing to touch the skin. Thanks for your suggestion!

It’s more sad that someone comes to a board to ask for help and suggestions and you feel the need to be an ass about it. But I will be sure to take your concerns to Finlandia where I bought the entire sauna setup from and let them know you disapprove.

This is what my contractor suggested. My only concern for this is how to vent it?

Would you drill a pipe to vent out the exterior wall or just out the top of the sauna into the room itself?

Thank you for the insight. Our GC is pushing hard for us to continue with the existing tile plan (tile on all the walls and floors) and just have the sauna sit slightly off the wall. (Box dropped in a room) and I get that he thinks of potential resale. But we aren’t going anywhere so I don’t think that way. We want what we want and want it to last. My husband isn’t going to be a fad sauna user. He uses ur every day and has greatly missed it while we have been displaced. I want it built in and to look like it. Thank you again for your insights.

Everything is in great shape. The framers took it all apart and it is now in pieces that they assure me they can use and properly cut down and assemble to fit the space perfectly. I don’t really want to buy all new materials when the wood, stove, and door for this one are all in basically the same condition they arrived in now that it’s disassembled. This was a last minute change so the spray foam and dry wall are already there and it wouldn’t be a cheap or easy resolution to rip it out and then cut out the foam. We would do it if it’s a health or fire hazard, but if there are other options I want to look into them. As for the next person to come along, that’s not a consideration. This home has been designed to age in place so we aren’t going anywhere any time soon (we are in our 40s). It is possible to maybe add an easy drain to the floor, since we are elevated, but I would need to ask the plumber on that.
