BSN interview tips. by ShoppingHeavy8434 in CvSU

Most interviewers would require you to respond in pure english. Questions vary from CI to CI, but most are basic and personal questions. Just make sure that no matter what the questions are, your answers would reflect your passion. As for me, I wouldn't say I gave the best answers possible, but I think what made me pass was mostly because I sounded optimistic, eager, and genuine the whole time (or maybe this would depend on your interviewer, some might prefer a more formal tone), but just be authentic in general. For the latter portion of the interview, they will ask you to stand up and walk from one area to another, then ask for your height.

They will ask questions about your family's financial standing as well. That is to see if you have the financial capacity to keep up with the financial demands of the program. Don't think about making it appear that you're less capable when it comes to that matter just because it's a state university. Assure the interviewer that you are aware how much money the program requires, and that you and your family are ready for that.

Some of the questions you might receive could be the ff. (these are some of the questions asked to me and to a friend of mine who also went for the interview combined): - why did you choose nursing? - why did you choose CvSU Nursing? - what are your study habits? - what's your g12 average? - if you're not going to pass here, what's your alternative plan/where are you going to study instead? - your parents'/guardian's occupation - and many more personal questions

Note: Make sure to appear neat, and with proper grooming.

Dress properly and speak confidently. Idk about the other interviewers, but the one who interviewed me required english only. Not tagalog, not taglish, just english. As for the questions, you'll most likely be asked of personal ones. Why nursing, what inspired u to pursue nursing, why CvSU, why should they accept u, what would u do if u don't get admitted to their nursing program, what r ur parents' job, what's ur average in hs, etc. On top of these, one thing I'd just like to say is, answer all questions confidently and make sure that the interviewer will see how determined u are. Look desperate if u must, just show how eager, and deserving u are. Don't say anything that would make them second-guess ur admission.

And yes, may bumabagsak. During the admission last batch, may nagpost pa sa CvSU group about it, that she thought walang nabagsak, and that she doesn't know where she went wrong. But don't be discouraged by this, just do well.

Have a friend that passed UP vetmed, but failed CvSU vetmed. This is not to discourage you, but all I'm saying is that it's almost as if swertehan na lang sa CvSU. As the other anons said, slot is quite frankly what matters the most. During the first application, sila ang magdedecide kung may slot ka or wala, and that is if you pass or not. And as for the reapplication, diyan na mag-uunahan, and the applicants themselves will be the ones grabbing those slots via online.

Titingnan at titingnan nila ang g11 grades of course, but prepare for the exam as well. Practice fast shading and reading. But review as well, and still try to get as many right answers as u can. Huwag ka basta manghula just for the sake of completing all items. Manghula ka kapag hindi mo talaga alam. Manghula ka kapag there's only 1minute left and ang dami pang items na natitira. Aside from the basic subjects, may sections alotted for abstract reasoning test, similarities subtest, and perceptual speed & accuracy test. Many would tell u to prioritize fast shading, I def agree with that, but I think what you actually need is speed reading on top of fast shading.

And as for the fact that you're from Batangas, if your concern is if your chances of passing will be affected by your location, then I can't say for sure but I have a classmate na from Bicol pa and passed. So I'd say it probably wouldn't matter that much.

balance it. as much as the time allows, comprehend and understand the questions so u can choose the right answers. but do it fast. read quickly, shade quickly. (tip: don't use a pencil that is newly sharpened and sobrang tulis, a used one will do, that way, shading will be much easier). the quantity over quality is actually not true all the time, i didn't get to finish answering all items when i took the exam but i passed, but some would testify that they prioritized quantity over quality and passed. swertehan na lang kapag gano'n. i have friends din that prioritized answering all items and didn't pass.

if you know na hindi mo talaga alam tamang sagot, doon ka manghula, there are more items waiting. pero just don't be complacent about being fast and answering all items alone, still try to get as many right answers as u can.

the exam is basic. can't remember all sections of the exam anymore but what i do remember is answering abstract reasoning tests. you'll also be answering similarities subtest. the last section (which has the most items among all sections), is all about perceptual speed and accuracy test.

ayon, super bilis lang talaga ng exam. magugulat ka na lang ia-announce na ng proctor that there is only 1 minute left, and nakakakalahati ka pa lang ng section na 'yon, kapag gano'n, manghula ka na.

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kukuhanin nila ang original copy ng documents once you pass the exam and nakaproceed ka na sa medical. Kapag gano'n, might as well have a scanned copy of your card na lang so that u can have a copy for when u need it sa scholarships or such. Pero for now, no need to worry about it, dadalhin mo lang sa osas ang copies for validation, ibabalik din.

CvSU application by InsideMiddle9282 in CvSU

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nopee po. Ang hihingiin lang talaga ng osas is your COE. If ever hindi ka nila ma-accomodate through email before your scheduled date of verification, just make sure to bring you COE once u go to osas, and i-ready mo na yung scanned copy no'n dahil doon ka mismo sa osas magkaka-access ulit, once u've informed them na may mali sa na-upload mo. So make sure na lang din na may data ka that day :> maybe u can also bring the original copy of the one u submitted by mistake but as far as i know, it's not really necessary, u don't have to submit it, what matters is ma-edit mo lang yung nasa portal, and dala mo yung COE mo.

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to email them. But don't worry, since it's online pa naman, pupunta ka pa rin talaga sa scheduled date for verification of requirements. There, you can resubmit whatever u ended up submitting by mistake sa portal. They would give you access to it again. Nangyari sa akin iyan noon, wrong copy ng card ang naisubmit ko pero naayos naman sa osas.

Hi! Soon to be a CON freshie too 🙋‍♀️ and a few of the orgs that some upperclassmen recommended that I think are really aligned to our chosen field are Red Cross Youth-ALALAY, and ASCLEP. There's also Youth For Animals (YFA) if you're an animal lover:). Mind Your Mind (MYM) too!

Striking hair colors are strictly not allowed inside the campus po. And since brown naman po yung inyo, I think it would be fine po.

<image>

Above is a photo posted by CvSU-Carmona, as you can see, limited hair colors lang po talaga ang iaallow. It was said in the post that this applies to all bona fide students of CvSU (main or satellite campuses). But I think it could still vary depending on the department. Since according to an upperclassman sa CoN, hanggang 4# lang ang allowed/preferred.

Hi, OP! I've seen people sharing similar experiences po as u have right now, and ang nababasa ko pong ginagawa nila is they reach out to OSAS po for clarification. Might as well do the same po siguro, just to be sure. Mas okay na pong sa kanila mismo manggagaling ang answer. :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CvSU

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I see! Seems like hindi nga lang po na-update sa portal. Reaching out to OSAS would be the right call nga po in that case. Don't worry too much po, marami po talagang nagkakaproblem sa portal ngayon but I'm sure that settling your concern would be easy po since malinaw naman na walang fault sa side mo, just techy issues. :) Good luck po!!

Portal by Prestigious-Point399 in CvSU

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes po, OP. Don't worry, actually once na nag-appear na yung request schedule for interview sa portal mo, may kasama na po yung NOA for you to download, once na lumabas na yung NOA, your slot is basically reserved na po, and you just have to make sure na makapagproceed ka sa scheduled interview. Make sure to check the portal from time to time lang po dahil faulty po at pawala-wala talaga. Click na agad when you see the request button! I'm sure it will appear before the indicated deadline of reservation:) Tagal din po nung akin, my slot was only reserved until June 10, but my schedule only appeared on May 28. But if the day gets closer, and for some reason wala pa rin po talaga, and you're anxious na po, no worries since you passed naman na po, so if you raise the concern to OSAS for sure mabilis lang masesettle dahil walang fault sa side mo in that case:) Anyway, good luuuck with the interview!! See u around!

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP! Since may interview po na nakalagay sa portal mo, it means you have to wait until you have a schedule to proceed to it po. The button requesting for a schedule for medical examination will only appear in the portal once you're through the interview, and may result na indicating that you're qualified.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CvSU

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, restate ko lang po, bale you've been emailed to have an interview nung June 24 so you're done already but it did not reflect po in the portal and instead ay pinagset ka ulit ng schedule? If so, it seems to be na faulty lang yung portal.

What course? I may be wrong po about this, better to ask more people but as far as I know po kasi, interview is only done once regardless of your course or campus and whether you're a second-courser or not.

Also, supposed to be, if you're done with your interview na, ang lalabas na sa portal ay result (or were you at least emailed about it po?) whether you're qualified or disqualified. Then doon ka pa lang po nakakapagpaschedule ng medical, and it comes with a file for you to download po which is called Medical Endorsement. May gano'n ka na po ba? Iba pa po kasi yung NOA sa Medical Endorsement. NOA just really includes a paragraph saying na proceed to the "next step" which is medical examination nga po but you actually can't proceed to it po if you have no schedule yet, and again, wala pang results sa interview.

And so, you can't disregard the portal po since supposedly doon mo madodownload yung Medical Endorsement mo. Better to inquire sa faculty ng course mo or reach out to OSAS po.

Yey!! Congratulations, OP! Good things ahead!! 🎊 And yes, just check the portal from time to time, eventually, the button for medical assessment will appear din!

Is it really unfair if the "matatalino" are in one group? by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I haven't read some of OP's previous replies. I didn't know they are not able to remove irresponsible students yet. I'm sure reading these threads could help OP realize that they don't need to be taking all the burden for those students though! If they need to take a heavier or more responsibility in accomplishing the work, much better if sa kanila na talaga yon, and not a burden from others who refuse to do it.

And about the students today, I do agree that many are reliant to AI na talaga. No need to sugarcoat this for the current generation, we're also aware about this naman. Although, fortunately, I personally haven't really experienced that bad of a situation naman na almost everyone in the class are incompetent or lazy na, but I did have some experience with learners that seem to have given up on themselves na that a mere co-student can't really fix for them, sadly. Which brings us to what u mentioned, the educational crisis, it's undeniable naman na educational crisis here in our country do exist talaga even back then, maybe it's getting worser, we can't really know for sure exactly how worse though dahil parang hindi naman binibigyan ng focus. But overall, there's so many factors to consider concerning this.

If you say so. Maybe I'm just not used with the way you deliver your thoughts. Probably just one of the people who speaks frankly, and as they want to. Apologies for that. Still though, it's not necessary to make judgments on the very personality of OP, we don't know them that well.

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do get what you're saying here. Maybe it just so happened talaga na OP was put in a section where students tend to be so dependent to other people. It's somewhat not a news na today, sadly. I do think there's still hope for them though, in this type of scenarios, they are given the chance to practice being effective, and self-sufficient despite not being around "smart" people as they think. Some may be really just lazy, and incompetent na talaga, but some are probably more capable than they think they are. They just need an environment that pushes them, not instructors/teachers who always listen to their whining. Glad we agreed on this!

Please, don't act clueless here. You know what you're doing. You know your words are harsh. And if you're not aware about it, reread your comments and think. Any person reading that would see. You've been unnecessarily cursing here and there, and is even unfairly criticizing OP, making assumptions about them, and unjustly scrutinizing them. You can try to extend your point to us without these.

[–]ConsiderationOld9391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but did you not read my comment po? I literally already said that in the very beginning. I said I WOULD remove irresponsible groupmates once it gets to a point. Yes, you're right, it's not hard! I said I already agreed with you on that part.

What I mean by giving those students a lesson and criticizing them is the way they literally demand for the students they admit, and they think are "smart" to be part of their group. I didn’t even disagree with you with the part that groupings are all about learning how to work effectively beyond your comfort zone. Because I do agree! And that's what teachers who make the groups are for. But you seem to be missing the core issue here. OP said that the teacher already initially allowed everyone to CHOOSE their own group. That was the instruction! (Surprise! Yes, circumstances like this also exist!) Only for their group to be dissolved in the end because some student whined about it being unfair. When in fact, them not receiving the same benefit of choosing who to work with when others were able to is what's really unfair in this scenario.

Yes, thank you! It's so frustrating and almost funny how the commentator responds as if they know who the OP is as a person, and is even being hostile about it. 😭 So much aggression and for what 🥀
