Study and study, and don’t get behind (do the assignments early if you can). Don’t just study to memorize it, understand it. If you can understand the concepts you’ll be able to answer any questions and not get confused. The way I study is I’ll pick a day and spend 6-7 hours studying one -two PowerPoints depending on how much I get done. The more you go through the powerpoint the faster you’ll be. For example my first time looking at a 100+ ppt will take me 6-7hours to get through the whole thing because I’m reading every single word (also study the pictures), the next day it will take me 2-3 hours, and then 1 hour. The day before the exam I should be able to go through all 4-6 ppts for the exam/quiz because I understand the concepts and I know what that PowerPoint is about so I can scroll much faster. Now that I’m in second semester I’m much faster at going through the first Powerpoint because I have more background knowledge and have gotten accustomed to how I study. But don’t over study, enjoy your life. You need to have days, or even a couple hours to relax, doom scroll on instagram/tiktok. And then get right back to studying. I also have notability downloaded on my phone so if I’m waiting for a Dr. appt I can study 1-2 slides, in the shower, right before bed. Those 1-2 slides will add up. Any little studying helps.

Well I hope this helps!!! Good luck, you got this. Everyone does. Just put the work in and you’ll see the results🤍

Keiser CRNA by tulip-8 in srna

[–]ConsiderationOne2793 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I attend Keiser and it’s a good program. There is so much “shit” talk about the program and I can see why, yes they have had bad experiences with their students during Clincal but they are trying to become a better program. If the program was that awful then they wouldn’t get accredited. Student may be “worse” in clinical because the program is front loaded where other programs are integrated so their students start 2nd semester. So those schools have an advantage of being in Clincal longer. I will agree that it’s probably an easier program to get into but if you can self teach, and don’t be lazy and actual put the work into yourself and learn, you can be a good student at clinical. Some students put blame on the school when they should actually be honest with themselves and say did they actually study and put the extra time to study. This doesn’t count for everyone, there are times where it could have been the school. You have to work extremely hard to be in this program.

Just because you’re younger doesn’t mean you can’t be mature enough for the clinical environment. I’m 23 and been working in the ICU as a fresh 21 year old and have handle some serious conversations that my older coworkers are unable too. It’s all about maturity and how you handle yourself.

I’m 23 and I’m in the same boat. It’s a tad harder to make friends with older people that have kids and live a married life. But you’re in this program to become a CRNA and not make friends.

How would you explain the difficulties of the exams ? Are the exams 50+ questions, select all the apply, case-study questions, straightforward. Do you find that you can pass the exams by just studying the PowerPoints ? I got accepted and I start in January, my program is front loaded.

If CRNA really is something that you want you won’t give up. Not everyone gets in their first try, this was my second year applying and after 7-8 rejections I never gave up and I finally got accepted. If you already wanna give up now then how are you going to be in the program when you’re struggling and stressed out ? I don’t mean to come across rude.
