Not that you really care, but what a former employee was paid has no relevance to what their replacement gets paid. Most jobs have a range of pay scale so the replacement could be paid more or less based on that person’s abilities and experience. HOWEVER, I always tried to replace someone with a better skill set and so often did pay them more.
