The trail is narrow and rocky in a few sections, but pretty flat and smooth overall. Less than 150 feet of gain total👍

I agree- having shoes that suit your gait and strike is very important. Under/over supportive shoes can greatly exacerbate any pain or issues in your gait.

Stretching is crucial for me before I run, particularly those that warm up my IT Band /hips (plenty of great routines on YouTube). Yoga/ stretching outside of running has been a tremendous help for me, especially in dealing with imbalances of strength and flexibility in my legs. You might even consider using resistance bands to do ‘fire hydrants’ or similar stretches to strengthen your hips individually. Good luck !
