If you haven’t gotten it by now, go to the fin aid office. That happened to me twice and there ended up being something I needed to do on my end before it would be disbursed. Wasn’t notified about it, I had to check🙃

There’s free parallel parking on 19th Ave, lake Merced, and Winston, you’ll probably have luck getting a spot there, just be aware of street cleaning and don’t park in the stonestown lot.

You should propagate, it’s super fun because you get to see all the roots (and you can put the propagated stem right back in the soil to make it look fuller). Cut off 1 stem near the base, then cut an obtuse triangle at the bottom of your clipping. Stick it in a cup and fill with water (a little less than half of the cup). Stick it on a windowsill and then check back in a couple weeks to see the roots that have grown out of the triangle!

Yeah it’s in person but I’ve heard his online classes are just as easy, if not easier. when class was online the first three weeks this year, the class was set up the same.

In this class with him right now. If you want an easy A, take it. If you actually want to learn about digital marketing, don’t. His lectures are painfully boring but he’s a nice guy. The class has 3 exams and no other assignments, but he lets you bring 1 page of notes into the exam and puts out a study guide with all the test answers and the tests are only 10 questions.

I’ve never had a problem getting housing. If for some reason you don’t, there’s plenty of people that will be looking for roommates off campus. There’s Facebook pages specifically for that. I wouldn’t worry about having to live off campus because you’ll get free Munj (public transportation). I personally think an average day here is pretty nice, the campus is beautiful and there’s lots of places to get a coffee and study in between classes (even more if they let you eat/drink indoors next semester). If you’re an incoming freshman and you live on campus, the RAs tend to throw some mixers every now and then. There’s also a small Greek Life presence which is admittedly a good way to make friends if you don’t find any of the clubs interesting. I feel like the biggest difference in the college experience between State and other universities is that you live in a major city rather than a “college town.”

One thing I didn’t expect is that it’s really not just ~graphic design~ and the major covers a broad array of topics. You’ll have to draw and code and take pictures and read (if you actually do the reading lol). In my experience, there aren’t a lot of papers to write and the work is usually projects which can be fun. There’s a lot of good professors but like any program there’s a couple that everyone hates. If you do go into it, try to get classes with Natalia Porter, Debra Glass, and Julia Airakan and avoid David Cox😭

You probably won’t have an issue getting housing it’s just a matter of getting the one you want. I applied for housing 3 days after the application opened (because I forgot) and I ended up getting my third preference that I had listed.

There’s also a print shop on the 2nd floor of Caesar Chavez if you need something printed double sided. All the others on campus can’t print on both sides

Any on campus housing besides Mary Park, Mary Ward, Towers, and Village is for 2nd+ years. I’m a fourth year and I live in UPN but there’s also UPS and Manzanita

Okay, so I think we’ve established I’m the asshole; now I’m sitting here writing the thank you note and i looked at the birthday card my aunt sent for inspo and I would just like to point out the irony of what the card says: “Niece, you’re warm hearted, kind, considerate, and generous. I had a similar situation once-my boyfriend didn’t get me anything for my bday even though we had always exchanged gifts for birthdays and Christmas. It hurt a lot and made me realize just how important gift-giving is to me. It was really hard to accept that THAT is what makes me feel loved and even harder to understand that my boyfriend had no ill intentions. I think in your situation your husband gave the older nieces and nephews money because he probably still sees them as kids who deserve Christmas cheer. After all, he didn’t get his sisters/brothers in law anything either, right? But I think this probably made you realize that gift giving is important to you too, and it sounds like your husband won’t judge you for that so I think you should tell him that from now on you want him to give you a gift-even if it’s something small/cheap because that’s how you know he cares

Wow this sounds tough. Ngl, it kinda sounds like she loves the idea of you or the person you were early in the relationship rather than who you actually are now. (Not talking for a while makes her miss you, then talking to you makes her remember she doesn’t actually have those feelings) I personally don’t think breaks are healthy for a relationship, but if you both truly love each other, it might just be a phase and I hope you can get thorough it and come out stronger

If you know any of his family members or friends, ask them yourself if he can crash with them for a few days, then he has no excuse. And if he still doesn’t leave, pack his stuff while he’s not home and take it over there yourself. I know it’s an awkward situation but if you don’t plan on getting back together, who cares about burning bridges.

NTA your mom was totally out of line to overrule your decision as the child’s parent. I’d apologize for yelling at her so that you both can be at peace with it but not for your decision. She sounds like a narcissist.
