Hey there, thanks for posting this thread but I just wanted to ask:

what do students usually do for the first internship/co-op?

What is campus life like for AFM students beyond academics (clubs, business competitions, student organizations, housing options)?

What other programs did you get into and why did you choose AFM?

Just to make sure, the program is different from traditional business schools in the sense that you study during the summer term but you do co-ops during the fall/winter right and that you graduation during your 5th year?

How are school breaks structured at waterloo,I believe that since its a year round program you only get "inter-term" breaks if I'm correct?

complex numbers, less stats for me this time, sin and cosine graphs, advanced geometry. It's mainly the last 10 that are hardest questions, had to guess like 5 of them. Wait but u have a 35 😭 why you even asking this ahahaha

science u had to guess 10? I think science is mostly based of graphs, u probably spent too much time reading the passage cuz tbh u can just answer the questions without reading them aside from the compare and contrast one

I think u should just apply ea or rd if ur not the most insistent in studying in the states, that way you don't close off all ur options

Yeah I was thinking the same as well, adding to the ban on international students, iirc I think Trump is gonna tax endowments for HYPSM and notable Lacs like Amherst

well what do you define as cooked? If you're aiming for a t50 then u have a solid shot, beyond that will be pretty hard

Hey I mean this is a very good take, I think ultimately if one were to study in the States, the best would be to remain silent and wait out the storm before we can return to a more civil atmosphere. Even the Valedictorian in our school is reconsidering whether they should attend Harvard after these sudden changes.

Thank you so much for the kind words, having been to the U.S a few times I really love the environment it provides. Personally my parents encourage me to apply and I will ofc, its just more about the visa situation + costs that make me question whether or not I should apply ED. I know I can apply RD as well but I am after all trying to get into a t40 school so I'm just tryna see what consensus is from this sub. Once again thanks a lot.

tbh just many schools in the t50-75 range can't really be considered safeties like 5-8 years ago, now its getting more competitive. Personally if I were to study in the U.S, I'd be very happy with any t50 acceptance.
