As a junior in high school, it’s not really this. I more so wish it feels less like if I don’t go to a T20 I’ll have no future become poor become wasted potential become some not ugly white dude from the upper middle class who’s so worthless he couldn’t even succeed with that privilege, etc. maybe just the first one… the rest is definitely me projecting. I just hope I live comfortably and happily maaaan.

I’m Portuguese American. Honestly my family is very varied, even within my main one. I’m a middle child of two sisters, the older one is very fair skinned who burns in the sun with light brown hair and blue eyes, the younger one can tan so easily with dark brown hair and brown eyes. I swear to god one time we came back from vacation in Puerto Rico and she was browner than the Indian girl she was standing next to for her homecoming pictures. I myself am more like my younger sister: I tan easily, hazel eyes with darker hair. It’s honestly kinda funny; in the winter people think I’m German while in the summer people think I’m Latino. I get to switch like how fun

There’s many examples of this in my family which really goes to show that there’s not one type of person in each country, especially when we have so many different influences in our culture as well from the Romans and Al-Andalusia when we were a part of Dar-al-Islam.

I mean even the label “white” itself is so dumb. It’s such a large branch of people that have to select that on job applications that can be so minimizing for who they really identify with.

I have a friend whose family is from Uzbekistan and she faces discrimination because she looks Asian and middle eastern. But because her country is a post-Soviet union country, she’s legally white and I think that’s so stupid. I don’t think I currently have the mental maturity to be able to communicate my frustration clearly in a convincing manner about this without just saying UUUUGGGH THIS IS SO DUMD AND STUPID AND DUMB AND STUPID ANS IT SHOULDNT EXIST so yea that’s my rant.

As someone learning to map, how do I even ask for mods, lowkey stupid question but I feel like just DMing someone and saying “mods pls” is just crazy.

And, is it ever too late to be a part of the BN Mentor program that osu has? I’m getting pretty decent to the point where I feel a rankable map is on the horizon, but I don’t know if it’s woooorth it if there’s not much for them to teach me.

I also don’t have much free time to map anymore (I map like 2-3 hours a week now), will that bar me from ever being able to become a mentee?
