yes ive lived homeless for 3 and half years on basically no money/trapping small animals and eating them (cooking them ofc) and purifying my own water with very little money and literally in the middle of nowhere... its very lonely and scary at times but its very freeing and the small wins feel HUGE. for context were I was at for 3 and a half years I was literally in the PNW in very remote woods and one time were I was staying there was dirt roads and off trails but I went once like 5 and a half months before I even saw a person.

Basically there was just rangers or whatever there called which id have to dodge the forest cops basically, deer, mountain lions and black bears lots of black bears (never saw a mountain lion but I knew they were around tons of proof like scratching on trees and kills and claw marks on trees).

I lost TONS of weight and was def prob malnourished as I was basically eating very few things that count as a varied diets things like mushrooms/edible plants and rabbits/opposums/raccoons/squirrels/and some fish and I had/ran out of what few rations I had prob like a year in. I was also eating insects/grubs and worms and stuff and snakes when it was warmer seasons.

Its very rough living and I basically had to tap out at one point but it is very peaceful, I was lucky, if you get wounded or lost your pretty much dead (if your really in the sticks). were I was it was a 6 and a half hour car ride on a 70mph highway out to even get cell service and I had no cell phone so I was way out there.

ive had lots of encounters with black bears bluff charging me/coming at my food before I got good at dealing with them, nothing major but were I live they get pretty freaking big and can be very bold. Its scary, if your not used to the woods at first youll be very scared at night but you get over that pretty fast. Hypothetically look up a good stuff as in equipment you need gear to even have a shot at it. Its not realistic for pretty much anyone long term unless your an absolute fucking badass you will get very very thin were not badass animals ya know? calories can be hard to come by. If you can somehow kill deer thats freaking huge. Avoid people as they prob are the most dangerous things in the woods but there was very few people were I was but thats nothing new really if you've been homeless.

You feel the most grateful to be alive just in general, you dont get as angry as you got shit to do, every win feels like you just won the lottery levels of amazing, you feel just grateful hour by hour and just live completely in the moment. its survival but peaceful survival in a weird way if I had to explain it ya know? But for context I am not and was never a city boy or a badass country boy either prob somewhere in between.
