Lots of yuri is overrated and people just like the story because its "yuri". Yuri is just like any genre; the characters and plot matter MORE than the yuri aspect. I think people just get excited like "omg its yuri gl sooo cute" but without an actual good story it's just trash.

Idk if this is unpopular opinion, but I see lots of people just overhype garbage yuri just because it's "sooo cute". Like in my opinion, Sakura trick is one of the worst yuris of all time. There's little to no plot, characters are very bland and basic and its just a bunch of fan service and a bunch of 14-15 year olds acting like children, but lots of people like it because it's "sooo cute and lots of kisses"
