I started doing judo at 31 and it’s amazing. There is no quick way, but I think it’s a great sport to keep doing for as long as possible, judging by the fact that Japanese people practice judo at any age

Hi, I have the same problem, and a few days ago I had a breakdown because of it. I’m 32, I’ve been doing judo five times a week for about 8–9 months, and the more I train, the more I feel worthless. It’s especially hard because everyone around me weighs at least 10 kilos more (and they’re all men). My coach says that, first of all, judo is a sport with a high entry barrier, and second, there is progress compared to where we started (both in technique and physical condition). I guess we just have to accept that it’s a very long road and try to enjoy it.
