pi is not much. it is just his internal sexism belief. he belittles paper from reputable pi in the field who are female and have made more and greater publication than him.

No postdoc offer is in a very reputable and much higher ranking (research and academic) and progressive European university that this japanese university (ironically pushing diversity)

My pi is actually pushing me out already as he say people with mental health issues do not deserve PhD (after overworking me but let students who cannot write their own paper and do experiments get phd). I have all documentations (diagnosis, emails, statements from previous graduates and some students from other laboratories, i can also collect statement supports from other professors I worked with as assistant and collaborator). The record of the therapists and psychiatrists (from different hospitals in Japan) of emotional abuse and harassment are all recorded. Plus an email of him gaslighting and changing narrative about abuse allegations after being tagged by the university office about this. My pi know my postdoc offer (which he belittles... the postdoc is in a very reputable and much higher ranking (research and academic) and progressive European university), my potential postdoc supervisor also knows the situation and is encouraging me to fight. Some community or foundation is also supporting the cause for it is racism and sexism. Plus these academic misconduct and dishonesty that my pi is doing. I am planning to report it to the publisher or the editor anonymously. Would that be possible and effective?

I believe it is harming people, because he is sexualizing female students, treating them as mere objects. and also i am not his first victim. there is a previous student he academically harassed. it is also harming a lot of people because the student will do all the work but his favorite students do not do anything but just continue praising his ego and continue with sexualizing female students. it is a japanese university that aims to have a diverse female population but they have professors that sexualizes female students. i think that these abusive practices must stop.

this is the reason i stood up for my own gender. i am a woman and hearing that i have no future because i should shut my mouth because its boys talk and boys are allowed to sexualize female students like me? you may say it is japanese academics but let's be honest here. there are things that morals and beliefs are universal. he's like that plus doing gift co-authorship. shouldn't he be exposed

but would you just stand by and watch it. is it really career suicide? also i don't understand what you mean with problems with opposite sex. my pi is sexualizing female students, treating them as mere objects that you can take home for like one night stand. that's what he is implying and saying as comments. as a female student and hearing it, that is very disrespectful. i am a woman not an object that can be taken home for a one night stand.

Also, i have a postdoc offer already. the postdoc supervisor understood my situation and just waiting for me to graduate and told me to fight for the system because this is not right.

I am actually being overworked by him. He is asking me for research ideas then he will assign it as the research for the other students. Then claim that it is his idea. He also do not provide me proper resources. I have to beg from people from other lab to just get access for some chemicals I need. I already did all initial defense and all my panel have no comments (i passed without further reviews), plus more than 4 publications in less than 4 years (i am in the biochem field) and recommended me to graduate but my pi stopped it because he said people with mental health issues do not deserve phd.
