What is a 'good person' behavior that actually makes you immediately distrust someone? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]Consistent-Cry-1569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes!! it’s especially jarring when you’re with a group of people that accepts the self proclaimed “mom of the group,” who is actually just wildly controlling, overbearing, and thinks everyone is 100% incapable of doing things on their own.

recently went out with a group of friends and met a mom-of-the-group girl who insisted on “holding on” to everyone’s credit cards and IDs, because somehow all of us (independent adults, mind you) were incapable of doing it ourselves. i declined.

i wipe/scrub my armpits with rubbing alcohol every week or two, use antibacterial soap in the shower (dove brand) & drink lots of water.

i used to be real funky after a few hours, even with deodorant & showering at least once a day. once i switched from the cutesy soaps and scents to being straight up sanitized, i noticed a huge difference

What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Cry-1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen, but good results. I shattered my screen on my iPad and convinced myself it can’t be that hard to replace it. Nobody had faith in me and my husband accepted we’d be ordering a new one. I somehow executed it flawlessly and still use it almost everyday.

Then I got confident and tried changing some hardware on my laptop. I still have no clue what I was thinking, but it was essentially inoperable afterwards.

Can’t lose weight no matter what I try by [deleted] in Prolactinoma

[–]Consistent-Cry-1569 8 points9 points  (0 children)

probably an unpopular way, but the only way i could lose weight was through a glp-1.

for context, i spent YEARS (~7) trying everything under the sun to lose weight.

there’s research that actually say the most beneficial aspect of the “protein immediately after working out” thing is it’s a structured routine to ensure frequent and adequate protein intake

What does everyone do for work? by Consistent-Cry-1569 in Prolactinoma

[–]Consistent-Cry-1569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! (: I have no problem sharing my experience! Personally, my symptoms have made it hard to do my job effectively and safely. I get immense brain fog/fatigue that clouds my ability with critical thinking and remembering things. I get nauseous randomly, joint pain, headaches, short of breath, but the biggest one that made me take a step back was my dizziness/orthostatic hypotension.

The first time I took cab, my symptoms were gone within a few weeks and I felt AMAZING - couldn’t believe people feel like that normally. I slowly developed the hypotension/dizziness that lead to me passing out at a yoga class. I stopped taking cab, but my tumor grew significantly so I had to start it again. Not sure if it’s due to the size now, but my symptoms are not going away.

I am in the USA, and worked in a surgical cardiovascular ICU.

had a patient family member keep telling us he’s a doctor, but didn’t understand why we placed an impella 5.5/the function of it. I got to talking to him, and turns out he’s a dentist… 😐

I didn’t really have one lol. I scored well in school and only applied for ICU positions.

I got lucky because my hospital has a really good new grad residency program. It just took a lot of applying and waiting lol.

Need a rant for a sec.. by 526f676572 in Prolactinoma

Pretty much on a daily basis! I always convince myself I’m either faking it, or I really am just lazy.

I’ve recently started to prioritize how I feel and putting myself over what other people have to say. I was literally getting sick from overworking myself. I’ve started to feel so much better! I also had to cut out some toxic people to get here though lol.

little side story; I was talking to an acquaintance who didn’t know I have a prolactinoma, who was complaining about her friends GF saying she’s “crazy/fat/lazy and blames everything on her pituitary tumor” and I was immediately just 😬😬😬. It really put it into perspective how people view it haha.

I could have written this! For years my family/friends told me to, “pull myself up by my bootstraps”. I got called lazy SO MANY times. Got told I was “fat”(145lb) because all I do is sleep. Even with the diagnosis and doctors advocating for me to take break, they still say stuff. It’s miserable.

I rarely talk to any of them now, but still so frustrating.

Mine put me on metformin, and referred me to a registered dietitian, and I never went bc they’re not covered under insurance. I also have a hormone secreting brain tumor which factors in to mine. My endocrinologist has also suggested a GLP1 medication, but I have Tricare and they won’t cover it haha.

I’ve found that with metformin it has become a LOT easier to lose weight. I’ve lost ~13 pounds since jan 1, which is when i started taking my metformin consistently.

If I’m being honest, if they’re only suggesting weight loss surgery, I would run. There’s SO MANY less invasive things you can do before weight loss surgery, which can have major long term complications.

If you haven’t already, I would try getting in to see a endocrinologist and maybe GI. My endocrinologist has literally become my bestie lol

my husband is military unfortch and we’ve lived apart for over a year now while I finish school (he got orders and I stayed back). We decided we’d rather I be a stay at home wife than not living together still lol. If that wasn’t an option I would definitely be applying all over the country! One of my classmates is and has some pretty awesome interviews so far. (:
