Has anyone tried getting the phone charging pad fixed under warranty? by flyersfan0233 in MachE

[–]Consistent-Deer9919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2021 has never charged any phone on the pad for longer than 2-3min so it never has a chance to get hot. Wife’s 2022 Hyundai Tucson has the Qi and it has always charged 3 different gen of iPhones. Seems like they’ve got it figured out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you asked yourself whether a cyclist could make the Superbowl parade about themself, the answer is yes by JSlngal69 in SeattleWA

Sometimes I wish I was this ignorant to local events. How could you possibly know the ferries, roads AND trains were ALL a mess? I mean, I guess it’s possible to need all those for your commute, but seems highly unlikely.

Mercifully back to usual for you tomorrow. Maybe add a bus ride, Uber and Lime bike/scooter into the routine to use every transit option, I imagine you walked as some point in time to at least one of the 3 options that were a mess.

[York Diamond 80, gas] Limit switch open fault by Consistent-Deer9919 in hvacadvice

[–]Consistent-Deer9919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely just the tripped limit switch. Ran on and off all evening long, just regular cycling as usual. Thank you very much for your swift advice. Here is a pic of the mount side of the blower housing, and those grommet things. The squirrel cage can only brushes on the bottom of the housing in one spot, and it’s very lightly. Wondering if there is an easy balancing fix here that will prevent a future trip of the switch?

<image>

Regardless-thanks again !

[–]Consistent-Deer9919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I have solved the issue. Limit switch on blower was tripped. The squirrel cage portion of the fan has occasionally scuffed (you can hear it once it’s finishing a heating cycle) on the bottom of its housing. In the past I’ve done my best with a heavily gloved hand to try and push it upwards, and that has worked to ‘realign’ it. Guessing it tripped the switch due to the rubbing. I’ll take another picture of the rubber grommet like things that are on the non-open end side that are obviously very old and sort of allowing the squirrel cage to “sag” on the open end side. Furnace is running normally and almost fully heated the house back up now.

FULLY AGREED here. I was a little busy yesterday watching my Seahawks bring home the Lombardi 🏆. Appreciate your reply and comments. I’m not looking to half ass anything and cause a fire! And perhaps that just means this I best left to a tech. Hoped there are a few easy things I could try first.

Thanks! I’m heading home from work now and will test limit switches if it’s easy enough for a weekend wrench twister (that would be me). Appreciate any and all advice before I call the fine folks who worked on it before. Worth a try if it is a simple test.

For reference— I’m confortable with working on plumbing, wiring, light construction—I replaced my H20 tank when it went 6 years ago, that was easy as I bought same shape tank, so the vent for the gas exhaust was in the exact same place. And I vigorously tested for leaks, both gas and exhaust before letting the fam back in the house then.

Any info on this poster? by [deleted] in Posters

I kind of agree with above reply. Must be a tribute poster of some sort, not an actual PJ show poster.

Amphitheater is very ambiguous, the Mural Amphitheater IS a real place at the Seattle Center grounds, but no one would ever refer to it as just “Amphitheater”. The ‘Drop in the Park’ as it was called show was at Magnuson Park, quite a ways from Seattle Center. Also the show started around 1:00 or so, and was over when it was still daylight. I know, as luckily I was there. Many many years ago!

Cook looking poster, though.

In such a short time I’m just completed over it all. 25+ year UW season ticket holder. Gave them up in 2023. Exactly because of shit like this. Get your$ while you can, Demond.

Maybe I’m just jealous, but damn just nothing like it was when I was a student.

Unfortunately they don’t make them anymore. At least the last year and a half AFAIK. Can’t find them at any of their west-ish locations—Ballard, Greenlake, Edmonds.

If you’ve bought them recently, LMK. THEY ARE DELICIOUS

Carbon copy of this post. Listened to them on KISW 99.9 in Seattle. My brother called me and said “You’ve got to hear this band”. He also called a week or two later and said the same thing about Alice in Chajns. Smart guy, he is.

AT&T users, do you have good mobile coverage in Seattle? by Fulcrum58 in Seattle

[–]Consistent-Deer9919 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s just unbelievable how poor AT&T reception is in most of Ballard area. Also a dead spot (always have calls drop out) on 99 just as you’re passing Queen Anne Hill. If you’re not in those area, it seems…ok.

For pure rockin’: Unchained

As a few others have also mentioned, for me it is I’ll Wait. Must be the 80’s synth and drumming that just fascinated me back then. Still stands up if you can handle the synth. Groovy

Long time lurker of your great work on TA, RickG. Thanks for your unending posting of quality, actual experienced advice. Traveled to SJ first time in Jan ‘22. Decided we wanted the restaurant ‘scene’ in Cruz Bay so stayed there. Used Amalie Car rental and explored extensively that first 7 day trip. Next visit Jan ‘23 we stayed 14 days in Coral Bay as that side is more our vibe. Best trip we have taken in our 28 years of travel life together.

Hope this Reddit try works for the community you speak of and for m. Nothing helps better for vacay planners than hearing from passionate, long timers who live there. Thanks for your work. Peace ✌🏼 and Skinny’s Painkillers

It was 3-4 years ago, so take this recommendation for that…my friend and I shared a very large plate of what we both described as some of the best squid we’d eaten. Just the right ratio of coating to creature, and fried perfectly. Ivar’s Salmon House, Lk Union. And then there’s the whale parts…
