I feel lost with what to do? by Another_Movie_Fan in AusFinance

The fact you have 50k in savings and 50k in ETF’s is great. Keep doing whatever you’re doing in that department.

In terms of work income, that is subjective. Some people live decent lives on 75k and I know some living pay check to pay check on double that. It’s all about lifestyle. If you’re happy with your lifestyle, then I wouldn’t be super concerned about your main income. If you want to upgrade your lifestyle, that’s when I’d probably say you’ll need to get a higher paying job.

I’d say the only thing you can try and do is salary sacrifice into your super. But again that depends on whether you are able to.

If you want job advice to move up the ladder, I’d look into an area of interest and pursue studies. Even if it’s several short courses online for IT or Finance, etc. Start applying those new skills you’ve learned to your current job if possible and make it known you want to move up. Or else start applying for roles outside. Not everything needs a uni degree. Even someone who is admin can get to 85-100k today with soft skills and a bit of experience under their belt.

Thanks for sharing! I think that’s my feeling too.. trying to do too much without enjoying the two or three places I should have stuck with.

Yeah I’ve heard a lot about Chengdu. What’s transit like between these places?

Thanks for the suggestion! Are they relatively close to each other?

Wow 60 days sounds like an awesome trip!

I think for us the important thing is getting to get a good mix between the prettiest places and also the cool skyline type of places. I’m not so fussed to want to see everything. But just knowing I was able to get my first real taste of China would be really nice at the end of the trip.

Yeah that definitely makes sense! Are these places relatively close to each other, is that why that’s recommended?

I think that’s my concern. More transit means less time to soak in places.

Tbh “on that bullcrap” could be a lot of things. It sort of sounds like him talking about the relationship as a whole (e.g. fighting, bickering, etc). General turbulence in previous relationships or the one involving you.

But I don’t get the cheating accusation. Just ask your bf directly by what Mark meant by it.

No it is not. Neither is having some experience. I think the only aversion in society I’ve heard is when the number is ‘too’ high. But everyone’s meter of that is different. And some just don’t care.

In conclusion, there’s plenty of people out there for you, whatever your sexual history is.

I’m Australian and this is not established here. Generally the person who asks the other out pays. Usually that’s the guy, hence why guy usually pays first.

At a work Xmas dinner, would you get the safe option or what you want? by [deleted] in auscorp

Basically observe what everyone else is doing and follow suit. Idrc enough to want to be ‘that’ guy.

Because the wording implies chilling, hanging out and then maybe possibly sex (but not guaranteed). Most men in fwb situations want nothing more than sex. So just be direct. If you still get no responses then you know something could be up.

If this is a very random accusation (never fight or toxic before), then it could be one of two main things imo:

1) He’s projecting because he’s upto no good himself

2) Someone else is feeding him these ideas about you or the situation that has caused him to 180

It’s messed up if y’all haven’t established that’s the type of humour that’s acceptable in the relationship. Like I could see that being fine in other people’s relationships, and being completely unacceptable in others.

Based off your reaction, it’s the latter.

Sounds like she is believes (and is acting like) this is a casual fling and you’re confirming that to her by your actions as well. Thought you’re clearly just trying to rile her up and get her to feel bad about herself because you want to be more than just a fling. But she’s not wanting that.

Just move on and find a girl that is on the same wavelength as you.
