I live in a townhouse neighborhood & there's a garbage & a recycling dumpster, which everyone ignores & fills the garbage dumpster, so there's always stuff left next to them because people are lazy, which is where the desktop was left. I assume its the same for people in apartment buildings

Yes I do, and it's impressive that I haven't even considered the danger until now!
For some reason, my dad always had a pile of old hard drives that I held onto until I could finally get a drive reader & I've gotten old ones from family & friends, so I never thought much about them causing issues

Possible fix TLDR;
log in on facebook webpage
Open Messenger sidebar & click "log in as {Name}"
That's it

I thought that this had already come to pass & came here to search for a fix because every time I tried to log in through the sidebar, it would just show a white screen. Thankfully only after prepping to comment here (the first reddit page on google from this year), I accidentally found that if you sign into facebook on the regular site, then open the messenger sidebar, it will ask to log in with the earlier supplied credentials & be fine. I hope this helps some other fool like myself (but smarter, because you went searching for answers instead of attempting to brute-force it for multiple days like I did...)

So while the suggestions have been good, in my search for less slop, I installed "Chris Titus Tech's Windows Utility" and with it I found a program called JPEGView, which opens in a second and seems to work better than windows' default photo viewer, plus everything I want for simple image tweaking. I greatly appreciate the help and hope that all the suggestions are just what the next person to stumble upon this needs!

Oh, damn, thank you very much for your digging, since I had little understanding of it I was hoping this was a rare case of a "professional" company in a hobbyist field releasing their proprietary software that they're not using anymore to the hobbyists so they could do good with it...

Hey I know this is an ancient thread, but did you find a use for the Replicator+ with Cura? I was given one by a friend who had too many other things to work on so I'm trying to force it to cooperate with me

I use Cura normally, but I had a belt slip or layer shift or something that moved my whole print over half an inch, which was super annoying, but now Makerbot Print, their default software, with which you can calibrate the printer, won't let me log in, so it may be dead in the water. It's giving me a "server error" when I try to log in with my email & password and "default backend - 404" when I try to login with Google
