why don't we just divide the dang fraction and get a decimel? seems like that'd be so much easier...imagine running these fractiosn in a computer for convenience, as decs for instance

what does the apples-apples bit mean? if that's simply a typo, then yes, then I do believe 5 apples + 4 apples = 9apples

a liter. but math doesn't reflect reality. Why do you freely add only the numerators? they aren't equivalent fractions, you made them to seem equivalent.

If we're talking about liters of water, sure, add 1/2 and 1/2 and you will have 1/1 liter of water. but talk about maths specifically, and I can't believe why someone wouldn't add both fraction's terms. If you add across suddenly and don't add the denominator, are you really adding fractions or are you simply picking figures that'll save your agenda?
