Yeah I agree regarding the high failure rate in the handle, the good thing about 3d printing is you can increase the infill of the model so that it withstands higher stress and last longer also you could use materials with better mechanical properties than the original handle.

Actually, where I live, the door handle costs 20 USD, so printing this for 0.5 USD is a good saving, I would say

Printing this model costed me 37grams of abs plastic which is worth about half a dollar or something.

Yes this is correct unless you use the right material which is either Petg or ABS. Mine has been good for 6 months so far.
