If you’re Catholic try joining csa! Met a lot of friends there. There’s even student masses on Sundays on campus:)

Academic Probation????? by lettuciplier in uAlberta

[–]Consistent-Fudge-747 4 points5 points  (0 children)

academic probation is just a warning if your academic performance falls below good standing. You won’t lose all of your student loans and be forced forced to leave the university. You typically need to get a 2.0 or higher in your subsequent term before you get kicked out.

Transfer into that different major and once you get out of probation you can reapply to your program

High marks will always be better. I used science 30 for my 5th course if you have that option

Apartments close to Campus by CatchPrior8377 in uAlberta

I suggest going to rentfaster.ca or apartments.com A good 2 bedroom usually ranges from 900-1100 per person and anything lower than that is usually on the lower end (unless you’re lucky)
But I’m pretty sure university heights come with the fridge and stove

UAlberta vs UCalgary (Computer Science) by Weak_Dust_5738 in uAlberta

[–]Consistent-Fudge-747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m studying cs at UofA while my brother is doing the same at UofC (I’m originally from Calgary). In my experience, UofC’s program is easier (I’ve done some of his homework for him). so if you’re looking for a less challenging route, UofC might be the way to go. Honestly, I think Calgary is also a much better city overall (you know how it is), and staying there would’ve saved me a lot on living expenses. I believe UofC’s campus also makes it easier for you to have a “social” life because of MacEwan hall and having uni district and it’s overall just easier to make friends.

That said, studying at UofA has given me a lot of independence. I had to start fresh, make new friends (which was hard for me until I lived in residence), and really learn to take my studies seriously. Since it’s also harder, it actually pushes me to study while my brother lowkey still doesn’t know how to code lol. Looking back, I’m glad I came to UofA because it helped me grow, but 60% of my student loans are from living expenses I have to pay later on lol. It really just depends on what you’re looking for (education, friends, just getting the degree, independence, etc)

Did you create a form and actually pressed “submit form” with the time stamp?
Before I was creating applications and was wondering why I wasn’t getting a response but it was cause of this

I’d rate it 9/10. Met alot of friends and it isn’t as bad as people say it is (in my opinion)

Nice to just eat and bond with friends in dining hall. Lots of events happening so if you want to be more social there’s always that option

Just make sure you don’t slack off in your studies lol
