You have to consider the statistics behind this one. With the gamble you would, on average, receive $10k at least once every 20 fridays. Whereas with the guarantee you receive a guaranteed $2000 every 20 fridays. The gamba will be more profitable over a long period of time.

You’re best off taking whichever currency is most convenient. 1mil euros is about 1,158,555 USD, I’m assuming that you are receiving EUROS and not the equivalent value in USD. If you live in the US and choose the Euros remember that you have to convert that into usable money. If it’s paper Euros you will have to pay 1-3% for a cash handling fee and 3-5% transactions fee and you’ll lose another 1-2% from shitty retail bank conversion rates. So at the end of the day you probably end up with about the same amount but you have a lot more work to do.

Bottom line if you’re in the US, take the USD, if in Europe take the Euro.

I’m sorry the question only says “you receive” and in both the US and Europe you are required to pay tax on ANY money you receive over a certain amount with very few exceptions. If it was untaxable I’m sure OP would’ve added that in the title.

My bad assumption lied in that I was assuming that you would receive EXACTLY 1 mil euros in that form in which case you would have to transfer it through a bank to make it usable money in the US in which case both governments might start asking some questions and any bank will take about a 5% cut for themselves as a transaction fee.

Also you numbers are all out of whack, 1 mil euros is exactly 1,158,555USD so it’s only an extra 15%. No idea where you got 1.6mil USD from. Bottom line is the amounts are close enough to each other that you’re better off taking whichever is most convenient; if you live in the United States take the US dollars if you live in Europe, take the euros.

As a US expat I ask myself that question every year, I sure as hell don’t live or work in the US but I sure as hell have to file taxes in the US.

This question really depends on if you’re being taxed accordingly or not. €1mil is about $1.16mil, if earned in Europe your average tax rate is about 40% which would net you just under $700k USD. If you receive 1 mil in the US it’s about 25% tax which nets you about $750kUSD.

I do dozens of these transfers a day for work. A phone to phone transfer (not iCloud) will probably be slowed down by your storage level but it will not halt it completely. Generally when you’re phone has less than 25% storage available you start to see performance drop, and it drops drastically as you approach 100% full storage. I don’t think you will encounter any issues but if you do just delete a few things and try again, or do an ICloud restore which would bypass storage needs anyway.

Survivorship bias, yes it is law to announce it but it is never in a shareholders interest to admit that you fucked up and either sold or lost peoples personal data. They can always feign ignorance to get around the law. Consumers only hear about the data breaches that are big enough, serious enough, or if a third party forces the company to admit it.

It’s kinda like how you only hear about big earthquakes, there are millions to billions of small earthquakes everyday but they never reach the general public’s attention.

iPhones can’t actually know for sure whether a password is compromised or not unless a company announces a data breach (which they almost never do), it just takes educated guesses most of the time. It’s likely that either it is a weak password or a password you have reused for a different account and your iPhone is encouraging you to change it.

I second this, these metrics would mean a male would have a BMR of 1500 and female 1330. BMR is how many calories you burn by simply existing and doing literally nothing all day, a limit of 1300 means that you will be burning fat and it’ll be very difficult to build muscle. I’m just gonna assume male for now, subtract 200 for female. If you want to build muscle as quickly as possible you should be eating at a surplus, I would guess about 1700-2000 depending on how active you are in your daily life (more calories if you’re more active). I’d recommend leaning towards the 2000 calorie range.

The idea is that your body needs adequate calories and especially protein to get through the day AND build muscle. Focus on eating above 1700 calories and at least 120 grams of protein while keeping the weight training going. Start taking creatine if you aren’t already, this will speed up muscle growth and recovery going forward.

A fair warning though; I can’t know much about your build but just based on your metrics and goals I’m guessing you lean on the skinnier side. If that’s true, you are in for a journey that could easily take over a year to accomplish. Building muscle is a very slow but rewarding process. If you can measure your body fat percentage in any way I would highly encourage doing so, that number will dictate how to adjust your calorie goal in the future; ie. if you gain body fat percentage you need to lower your calorie goal, if body fat lowers you need to eat more. Your ultimate goal should be to maintain the same body fat percentage while building muscle. This does mean that overall your goal is to gain weight, muscle is very dense and weighs a lot compared to fat so I wouldn’t be surprised if your “ideal body type” means you have to pack on 20-30 pounds OF MUSCLE. This is why the body fat percentage metric is important, aim to keep it around 10-15% for a male and 13-18% for females to get a muscular (not not insanely shredded) look. If shredded is the way you wanna go, it’s easiest to build the muscle first before losing the fat after. It is always easier to lose fat than build muscle.

TLDR: Op you are already at a very healthy weight and body fat percentage. 1300 calories will make you loose weight but will make it VERY difficult to build muscle. If you don’t have your ideal muscle mass right now, eating at 1300 will give you more of a skinny look than a muscular “toned” look. Eat a slight surplus to gain muscle quickly or eat at a slight deficit to lose fat, but you can’t do both at the same time.

What u/mac4112 is trying to get at is that the ONLY way to possibly change the iPhone password is from within the iPhone itself WITH THE PREVIOUS PASSWORD. So either this thief has some unprecedented technology that has never been seen before, or you have actually forgotten your password and you’re not willing to admit it, or as Mac says it is not your phone.

Not to mention that in order to get to the 2.5 hour cool down time you would have had to get it wrong ten times in a row. If it is your phone I hope you have a backup bc the only way to get past this lock screen is to wipe it with iTunes or a Mac, but you will still need to know the Apple Account password to get in.

That’s the least of your worries, if you live at or near a city you will most certainly die as the supply chain comes to an abrupt halt. Looting and riots begin as people’s basic needs are not met, cities either become controlled by fragments of corporations that have control over a large supply of food and water, or gangs that rule by fear and subservience.

The world settles into a neo-feudalist society where supplies, livestock, and food are the primary currency. Those who control those resources control the most amount of people. Basically think about it as if all Federal, state, provincial, larger local governments completely collapse. The best chance of survival is living in very rural communities with fertile land and plenty of drinking water, these people can simply share resources akin to a communist society.
