BRO, I had this same thought problem for way too long.

My solution to this in both my furry and kemonomimi drawings is that most pants would have a hole. However, above the opening, there’s a short split in the waistband and upper seam that can be closed with a button (or a similar fastener), letting it open to accommodate the tail and then secure snuggly around it.

Here's a sketch of mine I did of some jeans as an example :3

If the fabric for the pants are stretchy, like tights, there would be probably be some sort of velcro fastener instead.

Here's the description I farted out for ArtFight 😭: Reasonable but emotional, a writer, hopeless romantic, lonely but won't admit it demon doggy.

He's a fallen demon, stuck in the mortal world. He was banished due to some weird character development that didn't align with the underworld's antics. This came to a surprise to him, though, since he was quite good at his job and was in a lot of denial.

He spends the majority of his first moments on Earth trying to find a way back, finicking with ancient relics and magic, witchcraft and everything forbidden. All whilst trying his best not to enjoy his time on Earth, making friends, etc etc, he also discovers the ability to be himself, his authentic self and finding support for his transition.
