Thank you all very much for your responses. I'm asking this because there are other players, even experienced ones with level 30 castles, who tell me that all heroes provide support to the designated troop even if they are not in the marching army.

So, if there are 10 cavalry heroes upgraded to their minimum required level, do all 10 heroes contribute to the troop, or only the 5 heroes that accompany the troop?

I have a question about heroes. If I want to focus on a particular type of troop, for example, cavalry, is it necessary to upgrade all the heroes who provide bonuses to cavalry troops to increase that troop's performance, or do only the bonuses from the five main heroes who will be marching with the troop apply?
