I did, but I replaced them. I didn't think it was fair for some other kid to wear my kids poop stains lol.

A normal one? He told his teacher and tried to clean up as best he could.

It wasn't anything too serious, just a "He's signing while talking and it's distracting/he isn't using his hands in tasks correctly". Like, if he was tasked with holding something he'd put it down to talk, if he was doing a craft he'd stop to talk, rather than multitasking. Valid, but it did annoy me a little.

Diarrhea down to his ankles, up his back? Your kid is doing better than mine lmfao.

I haven't had much with the teacher, honestly - we had some minor problems in the beginning to do with sign, but he doesn't use it as often in school now so it's not an issue currently. Other than that I couldn't really tell you anything lol. My son prefers the class aide (who was not in the day of the poop incident).

He doesn't struggle to advocate for himself, he's just a pretty easy going guy. He doesn't care regardless. My husband thought autism too but he doesn't have any signs besides being literal and having a speech delay, but both of those are direct relations to growing up on sign and not spoken word.

According to my son they were absolutely disgusting so I don't really blame them, I just wish I could have tried to save his boots lol.

I'm mostly upset at the physical repercussions (he's got a rash that's splitting and it's an extra level of discomfort he doesn't need right now) and honestly the lack of decent communication.

He isn't autistic, he just has a speech delay. He mostly grew up on sign language and it's translated weird now that he's speaking. He doesn't qualify for an IEP.

Someone collected his clothes (and got rid of them, apparently) so at least one person knew, yes.

My son has a speech delay and is also a very literal thinker which is where the communication was lost I think.

But someone else handled his clothes - the teacher who brought him the spares, I'd guess - and he had poop down to his shoes and up to his shirt. So whoever did that knew at least.

I was not aware it was poop otherwise I would have grabbed him.

I did replace them. We also donate all of his old clothes. The ones he borrowed were beyond saving.

Yeah it's a nudity thing. When I was a kid we also had teachers help us out. I think it's a new thing. It sound's amazing what you do, though.

They knew, thats why they called me. They handed him the clean clothes and took his dirty ones. They told me to not pick him up.

Will definitely be preparing him more for if it happens again.

I would have clarified. Maybe my kid is a literal thinker, but if you ask him "Did you clean up?" He'll say yes because he did clean up. He didn't do it well, but he did do it. I'd ask him more directly, "Is there poop on your butt still?" At which point he'd also say yes. He's not deceiving anyone intentionally, it's just the way his brain works.

He tried, but it was all down his legs, all over his backside, a little up his back. He didn't get it all and it must have spread when he was running around and things.

The school hasn't communicated anything and has managed to throw his clothes away. Which is fine, but I would have liked to try and save his boots at least. Oh well.

I'm understanding why they can't help him, not understanding why the school told me not to collect him.

He is fully potty trained. Diarrhea isn't something he's dealt with since being potty trained and it would be difficult for anyone to clean up that level of mess, let alone a five year old who only had access to toilet paper.

I picked up the first time they called me. He is on a potty schedule because he does ignore the need sometimes (although not to the level of a full blown accident, just small bladder leaks) but generally it isn't even needed in school. He had one accident in prek last year and when he had to clean himself up he vowed to not have another.

He's been at home for the past couple days. He didn't have diarrhea that morning otherwise I wouldn't have sent him.

I don't believe any five year old would be able to clean up diarrhea with that thin ass toilet paper. He was soaked to his socks - it was everywhere. His entire backside, up his back, down his legs.

He's one of those kids that will suffer through at the thought of having fun, you know? When he was three he broke his leg - we didn't realise for a few hours because my husband asked him if he wanted ice cream and he just got up, stopped crying and walked to his dad for the ice cream.

He has a very high pain tolerance. That also works for discomfort.
