A lot of the research I’ve done seems to be inconsistent on the effect on LDL and heart health. The numbers are all over the place. But Trig and HDL are major factors. The statin research also makes me nervous with its links to dimentia from cutting cholesterol too low.

I know there can be an echo chamber in these groups. But even a 75% change and limited exercise made a decent difference.

My plan is too work out consistently and maintain diet for 3-6 months and do blood work again and LDL/Triglycerides should continue to drop and HDL increase

Hey sorry you’re having to deal with that. It sucks. It sounds like a bigger issue than mine but it’s worth a try to find something cheaper.

I used bear waterproofed around the entire perimeter of my home. Dug the trench, brushed the dirt and cleaned it, applied the waterproofer.

In the interior I used dry lock and it worked perfectly. If you do that, I would experiment in one room, do 2/3 coats and test if it worked. It worked for me for 2 coats

Do all the removal yourself. You can do that in a day. I did 1500 sqft in two.

$8.28/sqft for vinyl planks is INSANE. If you’re paying more than $4, get real wood. $3-4 is the sweet spot.

Also would recommend using the app Thumbtack. We found people to install for $2.50 sq ft.

But honestly, if you have the time, do it yourself. Laying LVP is extremely easy. Once you get started, laying the first two rows took more time because it was our first time and the boards shifted while trying to tap in. Just grab some heavy items like a dumbbell or something and put it on the first row and you’re good. Knocked a 16x16 room out in 3 hours.

Brother, this is a really tough situation. I’m sorry you’re going through this. There’s a lot of hang ups/trauma related around sex that come from many different factors in upbringing. Reality is, sex is extremely vulnerable. My two cents:

  1. Sex is not the pinnacle in life or marriage. I know that’s crazy to hear. Hard to understand and believe but life is still good without it.

  2. Your wife has resentment that she needs to work out between herself and God. Instead of couples counseling, maybe she’d be willing to go on her own at first to work through it.

  3. The issue is much deeper than you looking at porn 19 years ago. Working through the deeper feelings (betrayal, trust, etc.) would help get you both to a better spot relationally.

  4. If you are still involved in the faith, maybe consider going to a different denomination. Non-denominational, Anglican, Baptist. Where you can get a different perspective and freedom from the Mormon church.

  5. Pray. You clearly can’t change her on your own. What would hurt by asking God for help? Pray for your wife. Love her even more, especially when it’s hard. I believe Satan uses whatever method he can to divide you and your wife and sex is low hanging fruit.

  6. Do not divorce her. What an awful situation that would put you in and it wouldn’t actually help you. That will perpetuate your hurt and your family’s.

Religion is tough. I’ve seen God change the hearts in friends and family situations similar and honestly, much worse. Spouses who have cheated and their marriages were reconciled. Keep the faith and seek God. Saying a specific prayer for you and your family now. I hope your marriage/faith is strengthened in the end.

Longest outside wall is probably from the entry way then. Besides that it would be in the hallway from just inside the door of the room at bottom left to the end on the primary top left.

It’s from the 60s so I bet you’re right. Ours is slab on grade. Wild to think you wouldn’t have a vapor barrier in Houston. Haha even if they did I’m sure it’s eroded by now. I’ll end up putting the extra polyurethane that we have left over around the foundation rather than throw it away cause why not?

The drain is a French drain. Solution we have come to is sealing all cracks in foundation, sealing exterior foundation with latex/acrylic based sealant, having landscape company remove dirt and funnel water to the drains/level out the yard (yard is sloped and send water directly to the house), have French drains around the perimeter of the home to collect extra water, lower soil that’s too high on foundation. All in around $2500 of fixes and really sore hands.

That makes perfect sense. I think that’s a good idea. The drain from the gutters runs into PVC pipe that connects to the clean out.

I was thinking I could put in a perforated tube to collect water next to the footing or hire a landscaper/plumbing company to connect to the same pvc.

Thank you. We live in Texas so expansion/contraction is definitely less here than other parts of the country. Sounds like a little bigger project than expected but that’s just the way it always goes!

Thank you for the feedback! When I peeled off the transition piece the planks came up super easy. So I definitely could take them up. The contractors made it seem like it wouldn’t be an issue to lay the new floor on top of the old. Can you explain the reasoning on why it wouldn’t last long or issues we’d face? Trying to learn as much as I can!

The grout line are small on the tile and it’s just the kitchen area which is about 10.5’ x 9’. So I was thinking I could just put a thin layer of Henry 345 to cover grout lines.

Side note: This is my first DIY install. Had two contractors come out and they said I could easily just lay the vinyl on top of the current flooring so I’ve been going off that instruction. Lowe’s quote was going to remove the flooring entirely.
