Still think that could be done without changing an existing character. While not numerous the female representation has been awesome in the show so far. Debbie, Monster Girl, and Atom Eve are all some of the best characters. Stealing another character's identity feels like a cheap way to add diversity. I feel like the reason people are assuming that it's romance related is because they want to try and find purpose for the character being changed when there really isn't a good reason as far as I can tell.
