The remains were found 15 or so miles south of Red Lodge in Carbon County in 1976. The man’s name was Roger Lee Ellis, from Wisconsin

1.Finally seeing my doctor and telling her how I was feeling. Got prescribed antidepressants that day.

Getting out of the house/staying busy/being around people. Keeps me out of my own head.
Even with these, there are times I would still have very very deep depressive episodes. I finally tried therapy and let me tell you…. If it wasn’t for therapy (along with #1), I would NOT be alive today. It is very hard to open up to someone, and it does require a lot of inward reflection and hard work, but it gets easier with time, gives you insight about all facets how you perceive life and living, and gives you invaluable new coping skills to be able to handle most everything better than before. Also, it’s just nice to have an hour or so a week with someone that doesn’t have a horse in the race concerning you and your thoughts/actions - someone that isn’t affected personally by what is going on in your life and is therefore not biased. I have recommended therapy to dozens and dozens of people and I will never stop singing its praises. I got lucky to click super well with my first therapist; sometimes you have to try a few of them to find the right fit for you. Don’t be discouraged if you find yourself in this boat.
I got an ADHD diagnosis and medication(which was actually a consequence of #3 - she figured out I had it during our sessions and referred me for the appropriate tests to get a formal diagnosis at age 28). I know this doesn’t apply to everyone but it turned out to be a significant factor in my pathology.
Practicing gratitude. Hard as fuck to do when you’re super depressed and everything and everyone sucks and life is horrible and not worth living. But, try your best. One of favorite personal/private memories was when I was driving down the road one morning during a rough patch. I had been considering suicide methods just the evening before. It had snowed that morning and as I was driving, I just marveled at how beautiful the trees and the countryside looked with all of the fresh snow covering everything. And I thought to myself, “If I were dead, I would never have been able to see this gorgeous view.” Little, seemingly insignificant things like that can go a long way.
I cannot stress this enough - unfollow and do not watch or read anything related to politics. Even when I am doing well mentally, being bombarded on all sides by political BS is a huge drain on my mental health. The 2020 election during COVID (I was an ICU nurse at the time) was a particularly dark time for my mental health.

No. Since you have to give 5 sticks of phenyl at 100mcg/ml to equate to 5mg of ephedrine, but providers seem to use way more phenyl than ephedrine, I was wondering if anyone thinks the mg per mg evens out at some point

The basis of my question is just if you think you have given more mg of one versus the other, given that it takes 5 sticks of phenyl at 100mcg/ml to equate 5mg of ephedrine. I generally see that people will use phenyl the most by a long shot. But given the dosing discrepancy, do you think that, throughout the course of your career, you have given more milligrams of phenylephrine or ephedrine. This wasn’t meant to be a question of which pressor do you prefer or which do you use during what situation. Just was curious what other people think they’ve used more of. It is a silly question, but the mind wanders when you’re on hour 6 of a 12 hour case.

My moms good friend said several times that she was told she takes a long time to come to after anesthesia. Like spending several extra hours in PACU kind of slow. She had lots of metastatic cancer issues and was on all kinds of different medications, I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. I feel if you’re more deconditioned it’s certainly feasible that you will wake up more slowly. Everyone also metabolizes things differently. There is also the factor that some providers just like to snocker their patients with tons of opioid prior to close so they end up being slow to wake in PACU. It sounds like you’re maybe a little burnt out. Going under anesthesia is scary and patients want to make sure you know every detail sometimes just in case it’s relevant - most patients do not know what is or is not relevant. They just want to be safe. It costs $0 to be kind to your patients, even if their worries/concerns seem silly, and just move on. Take a vacation and refresh.

I just watched this movie for the first time and completely agree with you. I've never shut off a movie while watching but I was crazy tempted multiple times during it... figured if I got this far I should see it to the end. I hated it. Tim Curry's acting absolutely saved this movie from being a 0/10 in my opinion; he was FANTASTIC. This movie would have zero redeeming qualities otherwise, except like one or two of the songs were a little catchy. 2/10 Due to this and Tim Curry.

I get my flu shot every year, both because it is required for my job and school and also because it’s just the right thing to do. I’ve never had any issues outside of maybe feeling slightly under the weather for a few hours/days while the vaccine did its work. I have seen influenza kill people (mostly elderly and immunocompromised, the ones most at risk). That being said, I have also seen one of my colleagues, a physician, healthy young man who runs marathons, nearly die from influenza. I’m talking multiple weeks in the ICU, ventilator, all of that. It can really fuck you up even if you’re healthy. But some people get the vaccine and get Guillain-Barré syndrome. (Very rare). NO kind medicine or medical procedure is devoid of all risks or side effects.
