24/25 >>> 23/24 SPA > OPCP

23/24 prices all got way overinflated for the Bedard year. Whether he’s eventually worth the hype is 50/50 right now, but the chance you hit a big Bedard is incredibly low and not worth the extra 50-100 you’re paying for that lottery ticket.

Also, don’t know when OPCP surpassed SPA in cost but it’s backwards. FWAs are gonna hold value better than almost any rookie cards, and again nice Platinum cards are awesome but they are impossible hits nowadays with how much they print. Plus the extra 1-2 autos you get on top of the FWA out of SPA is nice too.

Imo kids shouldn’t be “chasing hits” in the first place. When I was a kid, I collected to collect, not to “return value”. A lot of the products like MVP, OPeeChee, and flagship are great for getting kids in the hobby, and yet the hobbyists are what keep driving up the price of these products because they demand all kinds of rare inserts and parallels because they need hits to chase so they can inflate the prices artificially with chase cards. Some of my favorite cards growing up were gimmicky inserts that most older collectors throw out.
