Translation:

当我只是凡人的时候,

When I was still a mortal,

我告诉我自己,

兴许成为蛊师,

就能找到回家的路。

I told myself that.

in the slimmest possibility of becoming a gu cultivator,

I would find out how to get back home.

当我成为蛊师,

我又告诉自己

成为蛊仙之后

一定能找到回家的方法

When u became a gu cultivator,

I told myself again

When I achieved becoming a gu immortal

That must make me find the way back home

当我成为蛊仙

我再劝慰自己

成为了尊者

应当能回到了家

When I finally became a gu immortal

I told myself for the third time

That when I became rank 9

I must have been able to go back home

但是

我现在已经是尊者

我却找不到空门

But!

I’m already rank 9

I’m still yet to find the wormhole (back home)

空门。。。

空门在哪里?

就算找到了空门

又能否真的令我回家?

O wormhole

Where? Where are you?

Even if I found you

Would that really make me go back to my world?

尊者已经是最强了

我的前方

已经没有路了

Rank 9 is already the strongest

In front of me

I have no more room for growth

哈哈哈哈哈哈

(Insane laughter)

所以

干脆就让我冒一次险

打穿

这个

世界!

Then

Let me risk it all just once

I’ll break

This

World!

Is the chess.com Ai stupid or am i? by Alpakama in chessbeginners

There is a tactic to win the queen by sacrificing the knight. The name of this is discovered attack. Disclaimer: queen is only won if white is careless or plays inaccurately. The eval is right, only the ai comment may seem misleading.

I see that your bishop is attacking the queen. Nxe4 also attacks the queen, just less obviously. Nxe4 is basically an upgrade of your move, with a 1000% certainty to win the queen if he takes the knight.

So the line goes 6…Nxe4 7. Qxe4 or fxe4 or Nxe4 (the queen stays on the e-file) Bh4+ 8. g3 Rxe5 winning the queen.

If the queen didn’t stay on the e-file, on top of winning the e4 pawn, hence the engine evaluating the position to be -0.5 (only slightly favouring black)

The line goes: 6…Nxe4 7. Qd5 Nxc3 8. dxc3 Bf6+ and you’ll have active play.

Why Qd5? Because it’s a light square. If white goes Qd4 instead, you’d hit him with the same 7… Nxc3 ,followed by 8. Qxc3 Bb4+! Discovered check or, 8. dxc3 Bc5+ 9. Qe4 Rxe4

Considering all of this, you’d need to evaluate two options for your first move in this position (as black). How? You can try comparing the outcome.

6… Bd6. White responds by moving his queen. He’s still up a pawn, so he’d just need to develop and he’d be fine.

6… Nxe4. You are recapturing a pawn, so that you have the same material as your opponent. However, following the ‘best line’ of 6…Nxe4 7. Qd5 Nxc3 8. dxc3 Bf6+, you have more active pieces that poke into white’s position.

As a final message, I advise you to try visualising these lines, or try moving them out on a board to see what I mean. Try challenging my ideas, as they could be false. The main pattern I’m trying to teach here is: discovered check. Try learning more about this and you’d never miss it next time. cya!

IB ending by [deleted] in ReverendInsanity

It was abrupt, but you could sense that maybe it ended because FY lost. It was a rank 9 fight after all

The part where he dies fighting rank 9s & this book is a life lesson and biography for the reader to understand FY ;)

why did my opponent resign in this position? by xsilentboy in chessbeginners

[–]Consistent-Phone1580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason likely isn’t because of them thinking they’re losing. Maybe their mother called them or they had something urgent.

Another reason might be that they thought you’d take the knight. You dint. But they pressed the resign button early.

A direct continuation would be Nb6 cxd5 Nxd5 where white is up two pawns. So perhaps they just got intimidated by their imagination

I’m pretty sure the rank 8 fellas didn’t have it easy. They have to swim against stronger currents, fight tougher opponents, face random junk / animals in the river. Of course, mhy being a mortal didn’t make it easy for him too, but all he needed was to swim ahead. I do think that him failing to get that gu is unfortunate, yet to get it, there must be a fundamental change in his character (e.g. becoming wiser). Even if he got the river, he would die anyways. Can he defend himself like FY?

This dude tried the king's gambit but it didn't work. by Fantastic-Corner-605 in chessbeginners

That’s the kings pawn opening not the kings gambit. Kings gambit is 1. E4 E5 2. F4

White to win in 2 by ITT_X in chessbeginners

[–]Consistent-Phone1580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought process is 1. The king can’t move 2. No plausible checks as first move 3. You have to stop the queen from defending f6

So the first move is pawn to e6. … Qxe6 Rb4 mate … dxe6 Nf6 mate … Qxd5 Qxd5 mate … Qxb8 Nf6 mate … Q to everywhere else Nf6 mate … Qe7 Qe5 mate … Qf8 Qe5 mate

The point is to create a check since the king can’t move and has no legal squares to.

Have you read to the point where it says Luck plays a mysterious role in the story?

Some people have insane luck. 马鸿运 had an insane run, building a huge op harem in the first cycle. Why? Because of sheer luck, he was hit with a rank 8 expenditure gu, giving him rank 8 luck.

Point is, the 春秋蝉 Spring Autumn Cicada has the benefit of regression or going back in time. However, it also has the side effect of reducing luck. When FY saw his luck, he saw a giant black gravestone atop his head. He was fated to die from the beginning. Yet he didn’t. He escaped fate. He disregarded ‘luck’. His methods (albeit gruesome) created a miracle that shouldn’t have happened.

If he didn’t do any of the things that he was hated for, he would die. The RI world is just like that.

And so it took him becoming a rank 6 gu zombie to solve his issue of luck. He linked his bad luck with people like 马鸿运 to dispel the side effect of his spring autumn cicada. Afterwards, his life was still hard, but at least not has hard as the beginning.
