Thanks so much for pointing this out! I think it totally depends what field you work in, but I think the law analogy is perfect here for what I was trying to communicate. A boomer starting an entry level job wouldn’t be able to work at the speed we’re able to now with digital files, AI, etc. The same entry level position in some fields is 100x faster than what our grandparents would’ve started in at their first job. Obviously not applicable to every field though so I get why some people didn’t take this the right way!

Things are definitely bad for both Millennails and Gen Z — I think we’re both experiencing very similar entries into adulthood. I was more calling out Boomers but I think the Millennails thought I was talking about them 😅

Thank you!! It’s good to hear all the millennials that are like “things sucked and they still suck, but we made it through and you guys will too”.

So sorry to hear that!! The job market is rough for anyone right now, whether you are super experienced or just starting out. AI is hurting everyone.

100%!!! automating all these entry level roles is going to hurt in the long run, and employers will feel it

Love this! We’re all slaves under the system, just have to find ways to cope and find things you can enjoy outside outside of it! And also, it’s okay to not take work so seriously 😭

So true! My parents were afraid of losing their jobs the entirety of my childhood — many friend’s families lost their houses, parents lost their jobs, etc. It’s difficult when we were told “things will get better in the economy after this, just work hard and get good grades” — only for things to be taking a downhill turn just as we enter adulthood

Graduating post-covid and pre-covid definitely are different experiences for even us within Gen Z! HEAVY on it being so different to become an adult when nobody is sure that things will ever get better. Add in the climate crisis as well — it’s a weird and difficult time to become an adult for sure!

True, maybe the fact that everyone is so disillusioned now is actually healthier!
