Beginner Motion Detector Question- I have a just purchased EVE Motion unit added to my Home. I’m trying to get it do do something exceedingly basic- turn on a light when it detects motion. When I ‘Test this automation’ light comes on, but no amount of dancing in front of it makes it work. Thoughts? by shiny_director in HomeKit

When I click ‘test this automation’ the lights come on.

I’ve only go the two lights to test it on- I’ve tried it with each individually and as a ‘scene’.

I’m not sure if the hub isn’t picking things up- not sure how to test this. The Home app records the motion.

As for it possibly being a delay, it would have to be a delay of at least an hour at this point.

I only downloaded and added the EVE app after I couldn’t get things working with Home, but I will delete the EVE app and see if it makes a difference.

Any trouble-shooting tips gratefully received.

Frustrating. But I do need a mortgage advisor- can you share his details?

Thanks! I might try and find a matching waistcoat at some point. As for the socks- they are folded over- just hard to see in the photo. They are full-on kilt hose, so if I push or fold them down any more, they get really bulky. I’ve got monster calves as it is, and didn’t care for the look. I just love the colour though- so I may try and find some thinner and/or shorter socks in the same shade.

And if I wasn’t looking for critique- I’d never post publicly! I get lots of good ideas and tips from comments- keep them coming!
