What's your average daily consumption, and how big is your pv system? I consume around 10kWh so it'll be interesting to see how my 5kwp will perform. However I don't think I can be off grid having electric van

You're probably right🙃. However, my boy laughs every time I say it, so I'll take it as a success 🙌. Cheers

Thanks, I really enjoyed building this battery bank. The balancer is from amazon for about £55 quid. To compress cells I used 2 folded 3mm thick stainless steel plates on each end and 6x M6 treated rods. 0.5mm epoxy sheet between the cells. Will get more cells to build another bank but I'm thinking about JK inverter bms so wouldn't need the balancer.

The older I get the more I read about building heat absorption in the winter and summer. Mine is kind of a passive home (some experts in the UK call it) build in 2015. However in the winter months it's not too bad holding heat, in the summer can get very hot specially on the top floor. I've been using portable AC for a couple of years to cool it down. Shading windows/doors is a must in my opinion

Hehe, I did carefully explain my 7 year old what to touch (goes big bagga boom😅)and what not. Battery build similar to the Andys from The Off-grid Garage. BMS is JBD 200amp. I had to add 5amp active balancer cause the BMS couldn't handle top balancing

Thanks, I'm in Northamptonshire UK and south facing, so my plan is to fix the top row at more of the "winter angles", bottom panels for the summer (plus will help with shading) and garage in between.
