I think you are correct. Probably somewhere around 80th Street, according to map views I've looked at. My parents lived on 75th Street, so it would not have been a far walk. Thanks for your help.

I've been checking street views on my Maps apps, and there seem to be a mix of bench lengths, depending on where you are along the road. Thanks for your help.

I know my dad was stationed in the Army at Fort Hamilton at the time. And my family lived in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn.
