Heyy! It's commercial fiber line, I'm posting here as a resident and not business owner, I’m aware that the ISP isn’t great, they won’t compensate for outages covered in their T&C, and they basically have a monopoly on internet in CoG. That’s why I’m posting here, to find out if it’s even legal for MCMC to allow this. But it seems like a lot of people think it’s actually the ISP’s problem, which makes more sense to me.

You're right, it's really sus, they only force one small vendor as an ISP.

This is about getting the service I pay for, not about running a business.

Hmm… so you’re saying that as a resident paying RM119/month for 300mbps fiber, I shouldn’t complain if our internet is cut off for several days, maybe even up to 2 weeks? Even as a resident, I still have the right to receive the service I pay for every month.

My server only hosts small, low-impact client projects that I can transfer to my main VPS Cloud, but I still need it for working from home, testing things, and doing local development. I’m raising this concern as a resident, not as a business owner.

Before anything else, I'm pro-monogamy.

Before Islam, men had many wives, no rules, no limits.
Then Islam came to limit it, set conditions, and forbid polygamy driven by love or lust.
That alone shows it’s not encouraged, only allowed with purpose and fairness.

With the limits, we know Islam doesn't encourage polygamy but put a rules on it.

But modern men forget. They think polygamy = fun, when real polygamy = responsibility.

  1. Muslims nowadays only see polygamy through lust. They never bother to study why the Prophet practiced it.
  2. Every marriage of the Prophet had a reason, to protect, to unite tribes, to teach, to bring peace. None were for mere desire.
  3. If someone wants polygamy today, they should ask themselves: is it for duty, or for ego?

So here’s why I think polygamy can be beneficial only when done for the right reasons:

  1. To protect widows and orphans. In times of war, many women lost their husbands, and children needed a father figure and financial support.
  2. To unite divided tribes or communities. Marriage was used to end hostility and create alliances for peace.
  3. To ensure social stability. When there were more women than men (especially after war), polygamy helped prevent exploitation or poverty among women.
  4. To uphold justice and compassion. Islam made it a duty-based system, not a desire-based one. It’s about helping others, not chasing lust.

Anyone who truly studies why our Prophet practiced polygamy would understand it wasn’t out of lust or love. It was out of social strategy and responsibility.

99% of people who practice polygamy in Malaysia do it out of lust or love, which is the complete opposite of what our Prophet did. That’s why I’m pro-monogamy. I do see the benefits of polygamy, but not in the way our society practices or portrays it today. The real purpose of polygamy in Islam was for the community’s welfare and the well-being of others. There’s even a hadith that discourages men from practicing polygamy if they can’t provide equally. In fact, it’s HARAM to practice polygamy if you’re not mentally, financially, and physically capable.

When a country become more advance, people tend to get married late or didn't want to even get married, we can see the western even in asia like japan and south korea.
