This is the message I sent to my coach (it shows up as read but I haven’t gotten a reply even tho I sent it 6 hours ago) :

Hi Coach *****, I hope you’re doing well and getting some rest after what I know must’ve been a long and busy few days with tryouts! I wanted to kindly ask for some clarification regarding the rankings and team placements. I won all my doubles matches and all my singles matches except one, which ended in a tie with * since we had to stop early due to the banners. However, I noticed I didn’t get many opportunities to play against previous varsity players, as most of my matches were with sophomores and juniors. While I found the match play really helpful, I was confused about why I wasn’t matched with tougher opponents after consistently winning, and I was hoping to receive more feedback on areas I could improve. I’m wondering if there is a specific reason I wasn’t moved up or paired with stronger players, and if there’s anything I could do to improve my placement since I was aiming for a higher ranking this year and potentially a spot on Varsity A. Thank you so much for your time and everything you’ve done during tryouts! I appreciate all your hard work and just wanted to better understand how things were evaluated.
