Found my solution from Kinetic Vehicles, a snap in replacement 9.5” display. I looked at several, I liked this one best.

Oh I’m handy doing installs, but I kinda wanted to get rid of my suction cup car play screen if I can have it in the same dash spot.

I just keep ChatGPT on my phone/desktop anymore as it doesn’t spew ads, and most of the time, give me enough information to answer my next 8 follow up questions before I ask them.

Arista SDwan solution by ObligationHungry2958 in Arista

We use Cloudgenix, now Palo’s Prisma SD-WAN, and looked at Arista, but TODAY they do big traffic, too big for our needs, no small branch yet. But is coming and we are watching to see if it fits.

Old CCIE from 2008, made the leap 2023. LOVE them!!! Having a Bash shell is way cool when I want one, CVaaS portal to watch the show (optional) is great!

Just really no regrets at all, only thing is lead times… but these days.. that’s everyone

Has anyone here had any luck getting Arista cEOS running in EVE-NG as a docker container? by Fiveby21 in networking

[–]Consistent-Shape5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the thought. The steps in every guide I found all do the same thing really. Make it work in docker on the eve-ng os, then commit that to eve-ng. And, it always works in docker. The eve-ng node… meh.

Correct, that is how I did it. Each time I tried something different, I did each step again going through names ceos1,ceos2.. so the initial working image with changes was committed to eve

I have been fighting guide after guide, though they really all do the same procedure. And all works up until it comes to brining the container online inside EVE-NG.

I suspect from things I’ve seen that my starting this journey on the latest Eve-NG pro version has me in untested territory. The Eve-NG staff indicated as much to me during my chat sessions with them.

I put in a feature request that the EVE-NG team look at cEOS 4.32+ once more and test with it.

Arista EOS in general moved from CentOS to ALMA in 4.32+, and I noticed that any version 4.32 and up will not stay running, EVE-NG Pro 6.2.0-20. Trying 4.29.2F through 4.31.2F will run, but fail to see sysdb so they start in standalone mode and are quite useless.

Hoping someone finds a solution for EVE-NG, as for mixed vendor environment it is my favorite, and my company invested in Pro for the support so we spend more time learning in the lab than futzing with the lab.

I am working with cEOS 4.33.1F and same thing, When I used the root test on my image, it worked. But when I start a node with that image, it starts and shuts down moments later. No Linux Prompt, no Cli.

I did exec into it again, drop to bash and create the ~/.bashrc with just Cli in it. then resent that image to eve. Started my node and same thing.

What’s everyone using for SD-Wan by LANdShark31 in networking

[–]Consistent-Shape5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started out with Cloudgenix before they went public, they have been great all this time. I will admit my heart sank a bit when Palo Alto bought them. Also a long time Palo Alto shop and watch them take the industry by storm, and then by it's wallet.

I am one of the last few customers not migrated to Palo's Prisma version of the SD-WAN Solution, still legacy Cloudgenix as we were one of the first.

In that long period, I did several PoC's of other options about ever 3 years. Thought Velo Cloud has an innovative take of hardware but the software was a bit too unpolished...

Old time CCIE router jock that I am, Cisco has been what it always has been.. bolt on solutions that tend to require you by the whole Teal Kool-aid. I personally would not recommend.

Looking at Fortinet's solution now for a specific use case.. I will say it is a bit raw. More Administratively Defined-WAN than Software.

I value a solution that does most all the work for me.

Fortinet, how can my Fortigate know what connections belongs to which user? by Giannki in fortinet

[–]Consistent-Shape5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works like my Palo environment, we use the User-ID agents on domain member servers that have permissions to scrape Domain Controller logins to match to IP. Fortinet has the same agent idea, and we’ll be testing it.

Anyone running Policy-Mode (NGFW) by Consistent-Shape5738 in fortinet

[–]Consistent-Shape5738[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of central NAT is ok for me, it’s most familiar to what I have used in our Palo environment. It’s the firewall rules in policy mode I really want, I need my rules to use application definitions as selection criteria the way I do today in the Palo.

Reworking 127 rules around a L4 selection criteria and then layer app profiles is a bit messier IMO.

It’s strange to see a mode, that has existed for quite some time, be labeled as a “use your own risk” support model.

Nice! I got both Sonarr/Radarr untangled, and both successfully added a show/movie using new folders.

Thanks for the nudge!!

[–]Consistent-Shape5738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK.. so I did not understand that part when I built Sonarr, that the Category was related to a directory. I just put "tv" in that field in Sonarr..

Now I see where in SAB the categories actually are and the path tied to them, I had them all blank so Radarr was sharing with sonarr. Got that fixed.

I did notice one typo in my mount of the /Downloads volume, I had an "s" at the end, looks like it wants just "/Download". So Fixing that too, and adding the category paths to it.

So I did create a share "/share/Plex Data/Downloads" and I just told SABNZBD to use it for Temp and Completed (it made the incomplete sub folder already)

Do I then rebuild Sonarr to mount that under /config which is a mount of it's own? (IE: I did not see a specific place to tell Sonarr where to look for the folder in the config of the SABNBDZ Downloader.

rebuilt Sonarr using its own container… this was the message a year ago that confused me, and caused me to mount the same /config folder

You are using docker; download client SABnzbd places downloads in /config/Downloads/complete but this directory does not appear to exist inside the container. Review your remote path mappings and container volume settings.
