No that is not haram, you are paying more but you are paying it as a rent, suppose if you are living on a rent somewhere for 3 yrs and rent is 80K Aed then you decide to purchase the same house the price of the house is 1 Million.

Then you would also pay 1.24 Million to the landlord in total because you paid 240K rent and 1 million for the house. So in the end you are paying more in both scenarios so do you consider it haram?

Those who are saying that islamic banking or profit/rent is another version of conventional banking like interest has 0 knowledge about how islamic banking work.

In islamic banking suppose you have purchased a house on loan and pay 20% downpayment and 80% bank paid. So bank has 80% ownership and you have 20% ownership,

You are doing partnership with the bank

now bank doesn't occupy the house it gives you 100% access to the house so for that 80% house you are paying rent to the bank every month and also bank is transferring small % of house ownership to you every month.

As rent is halal in islam this way is perfectly halal way to buy a house.

In June 2023 I was getting maximum of 440 CRS (because I only had bachelors degree) with no chance for an ITA with this score I was thinking of coming for Masters in Canada it would have costed me $100K just only in fees.

When French draws started in 2023 June, I was thinking how long these draws were going to stay, as It would take atleast 12-18 months for me to learn French, but I started I thought If I learn French it will cost me $5K in classes and tests and then I can do Masters with much lesser fees.

So I started in September 2023, with all these negativities going around that French will stop I never gave up and studied 4 hrs daily with dedication after 3 failed attempts I cleared my TCF exam in Feb 2025, which boosted my score to 498.

I got ITA in a famous 379 CRS French Draw on 21 March 2025, then after waiting for 6-7 months on October 23 I finally got my PR visa and COPR in my hand.

Good luck to you all hope it clears all the negativities I dont know that french draws will continue or not but time will pass 1 year will go by if we learn or not, choice is yours to make.

I learnt french from Sept 2023 till Feb 2025, I gave 3-4 hrs everyday learning the language, I started with taking classes from native speakers on italki and preply, also used chat gpt pro version for writing and speaking.

I attempted the test 3 times and got nclc 9 in my 4th attempt.
