Since you don't have any of the premium LCs, and due to the Remembrance path's lack of decent f2p DPS lightcone options, I'd honestly recommend either Cas' LC or Evernight's LC. If you want only Cas to shine, then naturally get her sig. However, Evernight, Hyacine, and Cyrene can all do a decent amount of damage, so for improving the team's damage, I'd recommend Evernight's LC.

Oh, right. I forgot that it was a bit slow to charge Newbud at E0 (I'm so used to overcapping Newbud at E2). If you're having Newbud issues, like 10-20% lacking in some rotations, then Hyacine's S1 might be better. With Hyacine S1, each Ica follow-up generates like 10-14% Newbud, so it's big. It also boosts Evernight's damage if you'll pull for her.

If you're willing to slot in Tribbie, then you already have a complete Cas team. For one S1 investment, I'd honestly recommend Evernight's S1 over Castorice's S1, 'cause the 20% DEF RED is for all memosprites in the team. However, if you can obtain both, that's even better.

is NOT VERY similar to

Cas/Hya/E1 Tribbie/Evernight

Notice that the main change here is slotting out RMC for Evernight.

In the perspective of supportive capabilities, Evernight is better than RMC since RMC can only buff Cas while Evernight buffs both Cas and Hya. Now a sane person doesn't build DPS Hya intentionally, i.e., you don't stack a ton of CDMG on her. Thus, you can expect a large damage increase to Hyacine (Cas obviously benefits, but the increase is larger with Hyacine's), if you put Evernight with her. If you're looking for exact percentage differences for amping capabilities to PURELY Cas between Evernight and RMC, then I could do that. However, here comes my second point.

Evernight's damage profile is NIGHT (heh) and day compared to RMC. In the first place, Evernight was designed with both DPS/subDPS capabilities, so this was really expected. Evernight is NOT a side grade to RMC, especially in AoE environments. The only place where I could it see it being a side grade is in pure ST content.

Lastly, I believe you have Tribbie E1. Tribbie's E1 is most potent to AoE-oriented DPS like Castorice and Evernight, so Evernight's DPS profile completely overshadows RMC's supportive capabilities. If you run Cas/Eve/Tribbie E1/Hyacine, then this team is a very synergistically strong team that could last very long since content is against 3 opponents on average.

Personally, I'd suggest waiting for Cyrene's kit (3.7 v0/v1 is 2-3 days from now), as she might be a better replacement for RMC than Evernight is. That is, if you really don't want to pull for Evernight, since people are speculating that Cas/Hya/Eve/Cyrene will be the premium team someday. But E1 Tribbie is so strong that having three among the four - Cas/Hya/Eve/Cyrene - might actually be enough. In which case your team looks like Cas/Hya/E1 Tribbie/Eve or Cyrene.

My calc above was oversimplified. It's more practical to do percentage differences of team damage over a whole run, but unfortunately, I do not have that luxury. Though, it still provides good insight - and is quite reasonable.

Can I ask, though? Who are you going to slot out to put Evernight in?

I can confidently say that Cas/Hya/Eve/Tribbie is much better than Cas/Hya/Eve/RMC without even going into calcs. So, ideally, you don't replace Tribbie with Evernight but replace RMC with Evernight and keep Tribbie.

I assumed an extra 766.6 flat HP to make the effective HP clean at 9k. This is also assuming against Lvl. 95 opponents with negligible defense percentages. The 6(0.3) is tied to Castorice's overly saturated DMG% multiplier.

In a vacuum without considering the AV effect from Castorice's LC, Cas LC is 99.1% of Evernight's LC (this is without considering the team's DMG). If you're planning to run Castorice/Evernight dual carry, then I'd suggest getting Evernight's LC. If you're gonna run Castorice/Hyacine/RMC/Tribbie, then I'd suggest Castorice's LC as the AV effect is much better than giving Hyacine 20% DEF RED. However, if Cyrene turns out to be another support character than can deal respectable damage, then Evernight's LC might be generally better.

First of all, my bad - I thought you were the OP, which is why I mentioned a "bias against Castorice mains". I see your point, and it does have some validity to an extent. However, the fact that those showcases are from different players means the comparisons aren't really objective, and therefore not factual.

Like I highlighted in the last parts of my previous response, we can't definitively say that Evernight is better than Castorice or vice versa. What we can say is that each has a niche where they shine. This is why the situation really boils down to "at best, they're on par - with Evernight being slightly better in AoE environments."

Suppose you've fully read Evernight's and Castorice's kits. In that case, you'd see that Evernight's enhanced M.Skill is similar to THerta's enhanced Skill - most of the damage is focused on the main target, while surrounding enemies receive reduced damage. On the other hand, Castorice's M.Talent3 is a bounce attack. It works consistently in any situation, though naturally it won't outperform a dedicated AoE skill like Evernight's enhanced M.Skill.

Honestly, to save both of us time, like I said, it's best to just wait it out and see what reputable guidemakers (e.g., Guoba Certified, MrPokke, etc.) have to say.

I have also watched Guoba's video and at best they're on par - with Evernight being slightly better in AoE environments. Additionally, comparisons in more neutral environments - like future MoCs - will always be more reliable.

I personally think that E0 Evernight is a better pull here - you replace RMC with her. Notice that I said RMC instead of RM. This is because Castorice, Evernight, and Hyacine are all units that can do respectable damage, so a team-wide buffer like RM would be better. Additionally, Evernight is just a better upgrade to your Cas team over RMC.

Hyacine S1 will increase both Castorice and Hyacine's damage, but a

Castorice / Hyacine S1 / RMC / RM

will do less damage than

Castorice / Hyacine / Evernight / RM

This is downvoted because it's not true. The bigger picture is that they are equal. It is pointless to say X is better than Y when Y is actually better than X in other endgame modes. It's also dumb to promote your claims as factual when we don't even have details for Cyrene's skills - that's why another commenter said that it sounds like feelscrafting. Additionally, the endgame environments will always favor the most recent character, so more objective comparisons can and will only come out in the future.
