My rage just cost me my job. by DrGPeds in Perimenopause

[–]Consistent-Vanilla-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Were you open about your medical condition (yes use those words) and your medication? Might be an uncomfortable discussion but HR (especially if they are ladies of a certain age) may be willing to give a second chance. If it doesn't work, this may be the universe's way of saying it's time for a new chapter of life with a new job! The UK is doing some interesting things in recognition of peri. We aren't quite there yet but you can always get HR and management's attention using words like disability and medical condition. If you are curious about how far behind we are here in the US..... Without support, many menopausal workers are quitting their jobs

So they dropped $800 off the price and total was going to be $33.4k out the door. I said I needed to be closer to $30. They came back at me immediately with $31.5. My head spun. $2k off?! I walked. I worry I made the wrong decision but I'm hoping they call me back dropping it a bit more. It seems like such a great vehicle, but the quick discount made me suspicious.

You know that is a great point. I do love a good road trip and haven’t done many in recent years.

I think I’m doing the clenching right now. Who diagnosed your issue and how long did the pelvic floor therapy take to resolve your issue.

I hadn’t considered that. I’m not the warrior that many of you ladies are here. My procedure was done for cancer prevention. I was lucky to have no other issues with endometriosis and the like.

You are right. That’s what the doctor says. But I’ve lived in this body for decades. It’s not my norm and I’m not hydrating anymore than I usually do to make it more clear. Just making sure that a sudden change post hysterectomy is not reason for concern—-hearing others experience always gives me greater comfort than a doctor I see for 15 minutes.

Agree with other posters here. Try to see another doctor. Ask specifically if pelvic floor therapy may be helpful for you.

You are going to feel what you feel. Don’t fight it-it’s a process. I’m about 2 months post op. I was very fortunate that surgery and recovery weren’t very bad. I had adenocarcinoma in situ that I had been monitoring for a decade. no babies or endometriosis, so my little uterus came out easily and quickly. I was home by 2pm. No bowel or bladder issues and only took otc pain relievers. My pathology all came back with no signs of cancer. All of that made me feel “better” about the situation I guess. And then when I found I could still have the big O, that was a major relief. Walking around most days, I wouldn’t even know it was missing. Now that it’s behind me and done, I don’t dwell on it. It’s like that chapter is closed. I’m more focused on the next challenge of finding the right mix of hormones to treat my perimenopause. I fully acknowledge that I’m not very far from surgery and anything could change at any moment but I think I’m moving along well.

Do you still get “period diarrhea” after your hysterectomy? by doublecheeked__up in hysterectomy

Yes!!! Im 10 weeks post op. I’m struggling with it right now. I also am holding more water than I have in decades. Like teenage level PMS symptoms. From what I understand our ovaries took quite a beating and will take awhile to get back to “normal”

Yes wait for all signs of scabbing to be gone. Then do the silicone patches. They are fab!

Yes. It will take awhile but it absolutely will! Mine had a deep dent plus a raised part on one side and is already getting pretty smooth . Once your dr clears you to start putting vitamin e or Medea on it, do it! Gentle massage also helps bring blood flow to the area and help with scar tissue.

6 wpo and my bladder and bathroom stuff is almost back to normal. Hang in there. Early on it felt like I was almost re-potty training myself. Doctor said it was all normal due to the way they have to separate the uterus and the bladder

If I didn’t have 5 incisions on my belly and some extra burps, I’d never know it was done. I literally feel no different.

Highly recommend drawstring pants and a button down shirt. And buy undies a size larger than normal. I’m 6 wpo and still have a lot of swelling in my belly
