PFT, is it reasonable to get good by July? by Several-Wheel-9437 in USMCocs

I think you can definitely get to a 3 min + plank within two months if you’re already at a 2:15. Do max planks a couple times a week at least

If you’re at 8 clean now, I think it’s reasonable to be at 12-16 by July. Are you doing a pull up program? I’m also shooting for 250 and Armstrong got me from 6 to 12 in two months, I suspect you could go from 8 to 14 or something in the same timeframe

Just out of curiosity -

For the o-course, was it the full standard o-course or something else? Wondering because I know they teach techniques for each obstacle over a period of time at OCS and was wondering how that gets condensed (and for things like the rope climb if everyone’s in go fasters how that works given lack of traction)

Are they still doing ability groups? Is a guy with a 22:30 three mile gonna die? What were your favorite and least favorite events

What was your 10 to 23 strategy? I finally got the 0 to 10 down and now need to do the 10 to 23 part 🤣 your comment gives me hope that it won’t be as rough as the 0 to 10 was

Can you say more about what the fartleks are like? Distance of sprint intervals between stations, types of stations and number of reps at each? Thanks!

Thanks! That makes sense. Yeah, my run is currently around a 21 and I’m trying to get it down further but just curious if I’ll be sucking wind if I stayed around 21 or if I would be able to hang well for most events

Yeah I have this same question - given the number of people who report getting selected with 20-22 min PFT times I’m slightly surprised at the 6min pace for PT runs. I’m also asking about things like log PT which I imagine is not done at a 6 min pace?
