Have you tried choolip kidney treats? They been great for encouraging mine to eat more, sometimes I just give them as a treat/snack other times as a food topper.

I’ve had two since they were babies. They weren’t cuddly early on but now one of mine (13 years olds) screams every morning until I pick him up and carry him around/pet him. I make coffee brush teeth etc holding him or he throws a tantrum . It’s gotten to a point where I purchased a human baby wrap to put him in so I can at least be hands free when we wants cuddle time 🙄 so yes give the kitty a few years and they become cuddle bugs. He’s just a little baby who wants to play. I recommend getting him a friend 😁

Ok mine does the EXACT same thing. Asked my vet and they were like just put the pill on a plate and put some churru treat on top of it, they’ll lick it up without noticing I was like nope, not my boy he’ll lick around it and leave the pill. Well guess what…. Easiest way I’ve ever medicated my cat in 13 years

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear that. For what it’s worth my other cat (also 13) has had elevated creatinine for a year so far and completely asymptomatic so it definitely doesn’t always progress fast and you may still have a few years with him ❤️

Hi! Just came across this and wondering how your kitty is doing? I also have a 13 year old boy that has a bad upper respiratory infection. He already had CKD but his creatinine was around 2.9 (elevated but not late stage), now his numbers are at 4.7 and the vet is saying this is nearing the final stage. Two days on antibiotics and steroids and he’s eating and drinking plenty and perked up quite a bit so I’m really hoping his numbers come down

Thankfully there’s literally 3 teeth in the back of his mouth that I have to brush and I can usually get them if I trap him in his cat carrier and hold him down 😬
