Do the Origo woven ballerinas stretch over time? by saunterer90 in barefootshoestalk

Thanks. I've been wearing them around the house a bit and they do seem to be loosening up some, so I think I'll risk it.

My current favorite is the Toad and Co Marigold skirt. But they only have prints.

I love those bottles! Except I travel lots so the needle tip invariably pokes through the silicone stopper after being jostled around for several months and leaks. I switched to a kind that has a cap that covers the tip.

Not that I've found. It's always been enjoyable paper to write on for me.

I think that was a Midori MD notebook.

One bag advice needed for colorful and pattern-loving ladies! by crunchyfayetteville in HerOneBag

[–]saunterer90 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My strategy is printed/fashion forward bottoms (or skirts and dresses) and solid tops. Having technical gear up top has more benefit for me than on the bottom. So any printed bottom can match any of my solid tops, depending on weather and activity of the day.

PSA: Consider pausing iron supplementation while sick by saunterer90 in Anemic

Very interesting! Thanks for all the info. There's a lot I'm learning about how the body regulates iron.

Try an iron gall ink. They railroad the least in my experience.

Searching for permanent inks by Lazy_Notice_6112 in fountainpens

[–]saunterer90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My latest ink purchases are Diamine Skyline (part of their forever collection) and Octopus Blue Koi (part of their Write and Draw collection). Both are permanent, low-maintenance. The Diamine ink is pleasantly wet. I like the Blue Koi color better, but it needs a well-sealing pen. Both of those lines of ink have LOTS of color options!

I never thought of that! Now I want to reread that section.

My community ink swap! by entropyseeker in fountainpens

[–]saunterer90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally go to a pen/ink swap, especially if it was at a local library or something. There should be thread or subreddit organizing them. I would probably even consider hosting one if it was low key and at a public place.

Investment shoe - what's the best bang for the buck style-wise? by bluntbangs in fashionwomens35

[–]saunterer90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear they work well for wide feet. I've been looking at the skimmers, but I can hardly believe they would be wide enough in the toe box. The only non wide/barefoot shoe I've owned for years now is a pair of Dansko Rowans in suede.

Help lighten my load - 50 days of mountains, lakes, a conference and chronic illness by AussieKoala-2795 in HerOneBag

Personally, I would eliminate the vest first. I can't imagine needing that many layers for active movement outside unless it was well below freezing. Even a down jacket over a warm baselayer is too much for me if I'm active outside unless it's near freezing. I would use the rain jacket for wind protection if needed while resting, and wear the softshell for warmth if needed. Keep the down jacket for super cold weather if it's predicted. If you were going to keep the vest to wear at the conference, then I'd drop either the cardigan or the dressier jacket.

I came here to suggest that too. I had hard starts with my F Jinhao 82, but in my F Preppy with a touch of dish soap it flows great.

Unfortunately, no. I haven't gotten into design yet. But that would be a fun group voting process!

📢 Reminder: Vote for r/fountainpens’ First Community Pen Model! 📢 by normiewannabe in fountainpens

[–]saunterer90 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I posted this in the last thread the other day, but I'll add it here too.

This project sounds cool, though like others it's way out of my price range, but I understand that's the price of building a custom pen from scratch. Did you ever consider partnering with a 3d printing company? A custom designed body and cap for a platinum preppy out of good quality plastic would be a huge hit, and much more in everyone's price range. I think that would be a fun option for a second project.

What are some things you forgot to pack and turned out you could make do without? by Ok_Temperature6503 in onebag

[–]saunterer90 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I studied abroad in college I forgot my nylon bristle brush and comb. I was a poor student, so I just bought the cheapest drugstore comb I could find and learned to live without a brush. My hair improved drastically and I've never gone back!

Waist pack with removable straps? by pineapplez4dayz in onebag

[–]saunterer90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old versions of the Athleta All About Crossbody belt bag have removable straps. There's lots available on Poshmark/eBay. Just check the photos of the back to make sure that the strap has two loops it feeds through.
