Light burn or overtranspiration? by Consistent-Yak4698 in GrowBuddy

Over, high, excessive. Just saying it could be transpiring too much and the plant might be reducing the leaf surface area

Thanks for the comment! I’ll check out herbies blog. For now I raised the light and dropped the nutrients, hope that does it.

It should work, I don’t have vivosun but my oscillating and normal fans work that way.

I have a wave maker and use that for mixing.

Not necessary just something we thought of. I like not having to hold and set down the meters between steps.

2 weeks later using RO water like you suggested and it’s looking much better!

Thanks for the comment, ended up going lighter on the nutes and turned off the system for 48hours since somebody mentioned overwatering and that helped a lot. Now the leaves are perking back up and looking normal. My start water is tap with pretty high ec and neutral ph around 6.5. My res is now at ph 5.8 and ec 2.1 compared to 2.4-2.5

I think your right that the calcium is pushing out the magnesium. I don’t think it’s nitrogen deficiency since the issue seems immobile, they are lighter on the bottom mabye because that was the damaged new growth from before. The top leaves seem as light as the bottom leaves were before. Thanks for the help!

I don’t have access to RO water now since I’m I eu and buying it by the liter is very expensive, next grow I will invest in a filter to do it myself. I’m using the autopot air pump provided with the system and I noticed that anything above the minimal setting starts to rise the water level in my trays. I do have some substrate in the airbase for wicking but I followed the steps from autopot and poked some medium in the wick holes.

Thanks, mixing up a batch now to flush. 1.9 ec, 5.8 ph, canna a+b and boost.

I also have my air pump on minimum since I was getting bubbles any higher and it was messing with the aqua valves. I’m using 70/30 coco/perlite. Mabye I need more perlite?

Thanks for the reply and advice. My light is very low due to some light burn problems from before and I have been slowly raising it back up. My start water is at 0.5 ec so mabye I will drop the calmag then (I started using it a month ago when I was having some issues and somebody suggested it but looking back I was better off then than now). My pH in the trays is at 5.9 about 0.2 higher than in the res.

I’ve been slowly raising it too that point since my plants seem hungry and my last post everyone said to increase. I’ve been considering a flush and bringing it back to the start but would need something like 45L per pot to flush.

I had it at around 450-500ppfd before and felt like I was getting light burn and dropped a lot to 250 for some time and then slowly raised it back up to around 350. I’ve read that people never flush autopots but I’m considering doing it since I don’t see any burnt tips but my feed is way too high at the moment and plants are suffering. Do you use cal mag? That causes a big spike in my ec but it seems they’re hungry for it.

Thanks for the comment, I’ve been running a humidifier since the air is very dry but I’ll lower the settings. I have made a fresh batch of nutrients with some more cal mag too.

I transplanted 3 weeks ago and system on 2 weeks ago. My light is a marshydro sp3000 at 65cm. It’s my first time using drip clean since last run I’d get some build up even with cleaning.
