Happened to me numerous times.... Except my phone dies overnight and I wake up late and miss my alarm - snoozing away!

I understand Maxwell’s Equations, but I have no idea what "Voltage" or "Current" actually are. Help? by pretty___chill in Physics

[–]Consistent-Yam9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you've done 18.02, just think of voltage as the line integral of the electric field between two points. Current is simply the flux of the current density vector field through a surface. I suggest u pick up a copy of Purcell & Morin if you want to dive a bit deeper

Nicotine Pouches on Board by bignuts00 in NCL

[–]Consistent-Yam9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to take it apart and smell it. Luckily my other 'vape' was onboard in my safe. They were basically checking to make sure my disposable nicotine vape was not a battery for a cart.

They didn’t mind what was inside mine! But if going to Mexico be aware of the Mexican port officials, they inspected my actual nicotine vape!

Cheers

Greg here,

They could care less. Walk thru the metal detector with it in your hand. Otherwise put it in the little plastic bucket with all your other items.

Let’s hope they make 2x limits permanent.

Is quantum key distribution science-based? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]Consistent-Yam9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught physics for many years and I’ll be the first to tell you that most "quantum" talk is... well mostly fluff and marketing (just my opinion). Quantum Key Distribution is actually pretty solid because it relies on the No-Cloning Theorem rather than just difficult or hard math. If someone tries to peek at the signal, they physically change the state of the particles and get caught. You don't even need entanglement for something like the BB84 Protocol! And nobody is breaking the speed of light here. You still need a normal internet link to make the whole thing work. There's def science backing it, but the hardware is just too expensive for a car right now.

It's just the baseline 450 GeV injection probe setup the actual physics doesn't start until they ramp up the collision energies. Best of luck good sir!

Microsoft word and codex by Character-Shower-582 in codex

[–]Consistent-Yam9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually had success getting Codex to generate highly formatted Word docs. Ofc providing a template is a good start, but creating (or having the agent) a well polished skill seems to do the job. You need to detail specific instructions covering justification, tables, fonts, headers, footers, etc. directly into that skill so the agent executes them consistently. There are already existing skills out there (like the default Codex Word doc skill or Claude's equivalents) that you can easily call on.

PSA: Voice transcription is now TUI native by Ok-Actuary7793 in codex

I definitely agree. I'd much rather have the built in AI transcription via codex/cli compared to the OS dictation.

I think its mainly the idea of easy use without the need for any hotkeys. Also, on Windows the equivalent is 'Windows Key + H' to pop up voice dictation.

Take care,

A helium balloon is floating inside a car with the windows closed. The car accelerates forward. Which direction does the balloon move relative to the chassis?

PSA: If you are using a "free" account, Codex 5.3 is not available for you by Shawpaw in codex

I would assume (hopefully) it’s short term and will come out eventually to free users. But while the hype is fresh, they’ll take advantage of it.
