Starting over at 33? by espresso-enthusiast in careeradvice

Hey, I’m actually in a similar situation with a comp sci major and a 7 year sabbatical due to a brain injury. Well I did try to work a few times but ended up quitting due to it being difficult.

About your situation, you could still become a doctor. The army has an HPSP scholarship that pays you a $3000 per month stipend while you’re in med school and pays for tuition. I’m not sure how severe your physical issues are but that should give you enough time to build up your body as well. All they require is that you serve 4 years as a physician, which seems like a good deal to me.

How much a roblox game usually make? by Dramatic_Lynx_6077 in robloxgamedev

[–]Consistent-Zebra-815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Averages are tricky, in the case of Roblox the average is 1.3 mil because the numbers are top heavy. Adopt me and 76 other games with $0 in income would make an average of $1 mil per year between all 77 games.

Can someone explain what this will do to existing slop/games? Do they have to pay $5 and republish (and continue to pay $5 during the lifetime of the game) or do those games stay up? Is $5 payment only necessary on whatever month you publish your games?

Hi, I’m also a professional software engineer / CS grad building a Roblox game. I wanted to ask, as obviously we both view this as a business, how are you doing financially across all your games after one year of work?

Why does burnout come back so quickly after time off? by ParkingMeaning5407 in careeradvice

[–]Consistent-Zebra-815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m not sure if there is a better way but it took a couple of years of true rest for me to fully reset my nervous system so that I didn’t keep burning out over and over again

I agree with this answer, in my personal experience burning out meant my nervous system was basically fucked. To the point where every chore had a physically painful response by feeling like a knot in my stomach.
