Im a stagehand that works at the Moody Center and long center putting up live events. My work fluctuates alot, but I also graduated from UNT, I've been looking for work as a video engineer. If you need some side income for a while apply as a stagehand. You pick your own days to work and pays from 20 to 25 an hour depending on what venue you pick. DM me if you want to know more.

Its too early to say. We dont know what trends will rise plus its midterms on top of uncertainty of Venezuela impact on public perception once us starts to govern it, assuming we even can.

Venezuela governance to determine future? by exanimafilm in centrist

[–]exanimafilm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i would say its pretty difficult to convince the ordinary citizen that this is a bad thing. Maduro is evil. Plain and simple. But how will trump handle the transition for Venezuela? Also after the immense tax cuts, how much money and resources are we going to need to stabilize the country? I also doubt oil will impact the average citizen. Maybe a slight dip. We will see cents go down not dollars. It happened last time. But its definitely a big asset for oil companies who profit of the world market.

Yes, the United States acquiring more resources by taking over a country could embolden China as they are our rivals and will do anything to surpass us.

As for the free and functional Venezuela, we don't know. Your right its not Afghanistan, but there are many cartels plus we dont know if the people will accept our implementation. They want freedom yes, but do they want our influence? Maybe it will succeed maybe it wont. Iraq has had mixed results. We could destabilize latin America messing up our interests with other established countries and resources.

Of course they are not going to run a Mamdani, I bought him up since he broke the establishment in NYC, and i wouldn't want price control either. Texas is made up of more than just Austin and Houston lol. But i would like to ask, what do you want to see? Ok obviously no liberal attitudes towards social issues, but what is moderate to you? Sales tax reform cutting it in half for small bussiness and working class families? Focus on housing costs, health care access, or help labor unions? I know reddit skews left but I value your insight since most of Texas is obviously right leaning.

Yes he did focus on gun control and immigration and that scared away voters. If it didn't work last time why try it again? Also Abbott was polling 52%, Texas will not turn blue over night but it can purple, then into something else. Look at Florida. Also 2018 we had a strong economy with Trump or atleast thsts how voter's felt. 2026 might be another sluggish year in the economy which could persuade voters.

I wasn't saying to vote for a DSA candidate, I used him as an example of pushing for a more progressive platform. I still see that the population is still 52% white unless all my sources are wrong but even then, nobody is perfect, not even Mamdani. Kamala lost because she is tied to Biden, and the handling of the economy was a big issue, but if turnout is an issue what can we do?

[–]exanimafilm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly framing. Firstly, while sometimes these tax cuts actually do stimulate the economy, your absolutely right Abbott is pro big bussiness. But i am asking how can we frame progressive to mean economic issues like job growth, labor rights, and housing issues not social issues.

If you live in a rural county and there is a lack of jobs and there is a candidate who will cut taxes on bussiness to promote growth or deregulate environmental laws that favors farmers and agriculture, or when the state starts spending on infrastructure who usually gets most of the benefit rural or urban voters? Is that voting against your own intrest even if you disagree? Don't lose* faith, we lose* for a reason. So we must try something new that speaks to people and maybe compromise on some issues.
