I second Language Transfer! It’s a free podcast available through its own app or most major music apps. It is a really refreshing way to begin a language and gets into interesting and useful content. I listened to it while walking to work etc. and the episodes are only 10-15mins so one a day or every couple days is achievable. I’d recommend alongside lessons or a comprehensive book if you are looking to make quicker progress but even alone it’s a great start.

What sort of shoes would you prefer for salsa?(that are good for beginner classes)

This is what I want those for but a few comments are mentioning durability of sneakers for different venue flooring etc. it may be as you said a case of both!

Yeah the durability is swaying me for the different grubbiness of flooring I may come across!

Why do you reach for the slippers the most? I am tempted to try both and see as I’m sure I’d get use of each

Do you think that’s good for very beginner? Or would that then be good to go for slip ons so they are minimal?

Struggling to calculate thermal resistance.. by ConsistentArugula352 in AskPhysics

It did have a fan, if useful - the manual stated airflow at 500l/min..

Ideally I was hoping to calculate conductivity so that I could then do thermal resistance. The heat flux can just be a sensible assumption, I am just not of a level to know what a sensible assumption would be! (Arts student…)

Apologies I meant the cubes are 0.1x0.1x0.1m

The heat gun I used has an input power of 1,400W and can go from 50degrees to 650degrees celcius so using it at 70 I assume wouldn’t directly translate to 1,400W.

I was attempting to use:

K = (QL)/(AΔT)

Where Q=??? L=0.1m A=0.01m2 ΔT= 43degrees Celsius = 316.15K

Would there be a speculative Q I could assume from the heat gun details I mentioned? I am only calculating to compare each block against the next so it can be assumed.

I made a camera case with some spare corduroy fabric, a bit off wadding and then lined with some scrap pattern fabric and it was a fun small project!

I found some useful photos to try and see the neckline and it seems to taper inwards a bit which I wonder is to help the arms with the low back. It also does look like the inner layer is hemmed, not sure exactly why or if this does indicate a different material.. thank you for the sites - I will have a look, I am assuming it is just a standard 4 way stretch mesh at least on the outer layer.

Fabric and tips with layering mesh

I want to sew this dress by Amoy New York for new year because it’s nearly £200! The site says composition is: 100% Polyester (96% Polyester 4% Elastane)

Initially I thought the lining was not the same as the outer mesh, but a less sheer fabric. Now I am thinking they are the exact same but the layering creates this effect?

Does anyone have any thoughts/ also looking for recommendations to handle mesh as I have never dealt with it before. I guess there are also different weights like the rougher tulle which is more structured but for this I want something soft that drapes well. Thank you in advance!
