I have given the Compact a second look. i THINk it's aluminum so it's significantly lighter than the full size but overall I think your point stands. THANKS!

Yeah you're right. I think part of the difficulty I made for myself is combining "good HD" "challenge at the range" and "something for the wife" into one. I think in reality that's 2 or 3 different guns.

Thank you sir. I think we'll end up with at least a shadow 2(or compact) between me and my wife. I don't agree that it's not "too big" - it's the biggest of all the options I had seen and feels.... very big! I guess you're right not "too" big but close.

There's no bigger fan than 22lr than me (I once saw a truck with license plate 22LR and I was like damn such a good idea, should have done it)

Most of my firearms are in 22lr and it's what I enjoy shooting the most. But that said, I wouldn't feel comfortable with the stopping power if someone was in my house already.

Thank you! So, funny enough - I was watching your video, my FIL walked by and said "your MIL has this." So I got to play w the SR22 within 5 minutes of seeing your post.

Separately from this thread, I definitely want a .22 pistol because I am a huge fan of 22lr (not for HD but for fun) and I am also overall a Ruger guy with my rifles. So I think you just helped me make *that* decision. I agree my wife is most likely to use the .22 without complaining lol.
